Enigmos dainoje "Beyond invisible" panaudotas latvių sutartinės fragmentas, bet latviai sutartinių neturi. :) tai yra tapatu "turėja liepa"(melodiškai). O sutartinės Unesco nematerialaus paveldo sąraše, pripažintas vienintelis pasaulyje analogų neturintis reiškinys kilęs iš Lietuvos. Džiugu matyti tokį video. Kažkas seno naujai atrasto! Unfortunately, this kind of unique Lithuanian folk songs cannot really be l i t e r a l l y translated into other languages. But! Here is some info that might grab your attention. It is very common for these folk songs to show similarity between Nature and Human Life. For instance, in this particular song a linden tree (liepa) is compared to a young maiden (mergelė) (usually a linden tree stands as a symbol of yet unmarried lady, an apple tree - mother, a married woman. Young girls can be also compared to/with "lilies", "rues" or "weavers" (lelijėlė, rūtelė, audėjėlė) as well as men to/with "birches", "oaks" or "ploughmen" (berželis, ąžuolėlis, artojėlis) in a diminutive form. Let's get back to the song.) Literal translation of the main words is: Linden tree had Nine branches. Mother had Nine daughters. All these nine The storm broke. For all these nine Matchmaker found a match. Leave us alone, So that the cuckoo could fly in. Leave us alone, So that we could sweep the earthen floor. So that the cuckoo could fly in So that the cuckoo could sing its song. Mainly the repetitive words have no actual meaning. It is somewhat a game. Words and their combinations.. they just simply derive from other Lithuanian words, for example "ratas" becomes "ratulėlis" which is a diminutive form of a word "wheel" or "circle". Circle of life, as we may interpret. Broken branches of a linden tree is a loss. For a tree. A girl getting married is.. well, some kind of a loss as well. For her family. It is also believed that Water is an Element of a Woman, Feminine, therefore we, Lithuanians, have a kind of special/specific word describing a married woman, "ištekėjusi", which literally means "the outflown/flown out" (as water). So a married woman is the one who has flown out from her family into her husbands hands and a new family. She changed her surname, leaving hers behind, in the past. She changed her "form" like water always does. River flows and never stops, never goes/flows backwards, it is never the same. So is a woman. Well, I guess that is because of that constant change it is sometimes hard to understand us, women, and for us to understand ourselves + our sisters/each other, but when we do (while listening, hearing, talking, relating, etc.) - real magic happens. The magic which can be seen in this video. If interested you can take listen more of these songs here: www.mic.lt/en/database/folk/composers-artists/trysketuriose/ open.spotify.com/album/2RMw559WFHdJfVnEB632qN?si=KW-cs4_MQ3CPMYGzUHcqpg Aaand some really cool stuff from Girių Dvasios (Spirits of The Woods). Lithuanian folk spirit wrapped in dub rhythms (meditative + soothing): open.spotify.com/track/2A2XVRUFex1kYvPGQYnVLS?si=686ZVHWpS8KG83diK4IlIw (Wasn't paid for that, just expressing my appreciation for what people do and put their heart and soul into.) Cheers! (Or "Į sveikatą!" - "Bless you!", "May it go/flow/find a way into your health/wealth!")

@Kunigunda8974 жыл бұрын
There is no need to understand words, listen to the melody, that it tells you, what are you feeling. The inner song is a heritage that everyone carries in our blood. All nations have the same songs and even mantras are sung in India, it is the same inner melody, it is the way to ourselves. Old folk songs introduce us to a different worldview and relationship to plants that our ancestors had, living in the rhythm of nature and working the ground. We carry that code too. We came from them. We are still very close to the earth, with the old tune connecting us to them. Because the soul does not see the light, the soul hears the sound ... And this isn't my words. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpK7fXtsfc6Ijtk But if you really want a translation, someone already shared in comments.
