Growing up, my younger brother had difficulty waking up. We would pour a little water in his ear and he would wake up real fast. After a few times of that, he didn't have much difficulty waking up. You just got to train your younger siblings.

My ADHD brain does that. No matter what the alarm is, or how loud - after a while my brain will simply train itself to tune it out. Because hearing the alarm means getting up, which means dopamine deficit, which makes brain panic, which leads to the distractability... Meanwhile ignoring the alarm means avoiding all that - at least until I notice I slept in and feel even worse. But instinct isn't good at more complex reasoning... I have to change up my alarms every so often to avoid that - preferably at the other side of the room, so I'm less likely to autopilot into turning it off and immediately forget about it. But even then it can still happen...

Strangely enough, my alarm will always pierce through my fat head and wake me up instantly despite being a deep sleeper. Like, I used to sleep through Church services when I was a kid and basically be dead to the world, but my alarm for work will instantly get me awake.
