The whole story arc of Nero in this game happened because Dante slipped up acting like a protective uncle which was so out of character for him from how Dante always presented himself to Nero that he interpreted it as Dante looking down on him, which piled on with his self blame for losing Devil Bringer to the cloaked figure that ambushed him AND his self blame for losing his adoptive brother was a real big pile of baggage.

He needed to make sure Vergil stayed focused on him. Up til this point Nero’s been the only family he has left. He’d die for the boy. And also? vVergil kills Nero? Dante loses his brother for good.

i know what you mean. in devil may cry 3...when Dante was beggining his leyend....Lady was initially in a revenge crusade. She was searching Arkham...her biological father...for killing her mom in a sacrifice for activate....The Temen Ni Gru.....a gaint tower whi was used as a bridge between the human world and the demon world. After Dante and Vergil defeated Arkham in the Underworld....Arkham was mortally wounded in his human form. the final blow was made by Lady....she killed her father for finally acomplish her revenge and quit her birth name Mary...for finally acept the name which was given by Dante before. she laughed and cried after that. This incident changed her forever. Dante was the first hibrid demon human she acepted as a friend and business partner.
