I first went to Sofala when I was about 12 years old in around 1970 The general store was still in use, the proprietor name was Smith and it was staffed by Mr and Mrs Smith and their two daughters It was just after the movie "The Cars That Ate Paris" was made and there were wrecked cars from the movie all over the place and a temporary building built for the movie was next to Smith's Store where the park is today across the road from the pub Later we would camp in a bark slab house built for the colonial movie "Luke's Kingdom" located along the river a few miles east of the town, you had to leave Sydney as early as possible on Friday afternoon to secure camping rights of the house for the weekend

@@DetectorooAdventures The movie "The Cars That Ate Paris" is on KZbin and you'll find small parts of "Luke's Kingdom" on here to I'm not sure but I imagine a car from the film is still over the side of Razorback Road, it's a Datsun sports car that is in the first scenes of the movie, I walked down to wreck years ago Later I actually lived at Razorback, Razorback Road Running Stream

@@DetectorooAdventures The film is a bit of a "B" grade but if you know Sofala you'll like it There are actually some well known Australian actors in it from the time For instance you might recognise one of the village idiots as the pilot from Mad Max 2 and 3 👍
