I think Simon Cowell showed us the talented and intuitive professional HE is. He knew immediately Gruff was not doing well with his first song, rightly stopped it, gave him some expert advice (and told him to get water which is a singer's best friend!!) and sent him off singing his second song. And he sang it brilliantly. Kudos to Simon Cowell. I've always liked him.

I couldn't agree more, Cheryl. I think Simon's 'dark side' was generated by people that saw things through different eyes. I've rarely doubted his perspective...which isn't to say I haven't, on rare occasion disagreed. He know's his stuff....and anyone who finds his judgments to be harsh, would never make it in the entertainments business. Some of his comments in the past may have been considered rude...but you have to consider, that blatantly talent-less people waste everybody's time. It would be cruel to give false encouragement to these people. I've always liked him too.

Randy Barber well... that’s probably true. Opera singers sing this piece very differently and require a much higher level to be just slightly impressed compared on how he does it. That’s probably really the first time someone appreciated his version because in the professional opera world he would be despised.

I am from Texas, in America. This is my all-time favorite video of either BGT or AGT ever. And there have been some very good ones. Better than Susan Boyle’s and she is fantastic herself. But this audition epitomizes what life is all about. Competing, being knocked down, getting up again and winning. True friends. Reaping rewards. Just awesome. I watch this over and over, and I always tear up . Very emotional, very inspiring. And what great friends. He’s already a winner there. I would like to know how he fared.
