When I was 10 and could barely play the piano yet the intro song to this game inspired me and I made my own song using it as the beginning of my song. It was just so cool. Hearing it now brings back memories of so long ago when I wanted really badly to learn to play game music.

I feel ya. I loved video game music all my life but that didn't count as "real music" so I thought I didn't like music. Metal was my gateway into music as a teen until I got back to VGM. I'm now a happy VGM composer.

This was one of my favorite games when I was super young. I could barely speak a full sentence but already had every tune in this game etched into my brain. I just heard a tune very similar to Underwater while a friend was playing a Zelda: Ocarina of Time randomizer (not sure if it was original music) and it triggered the memory of this song. I can't believe I remembered where it was from. The music from this game was really good, especially for its medium and being made in 1988.

Damn, this OST kicks ass. I never played the OG Blaster Master, just Inti Creates' (kickass) reboot, but that wouldn't even exist without this. As far as the music goes, I'd put it on the same level as Kirby's Adventure, or maybe even above just because Blaster Master came out 5 years prior, lol

Totally agree, Adam. This game is severely underrated. Such an epic soundtrack and quite fun to play. also challenging to as you couldn't get extra lives or have save slots. Lost many an afternoon in my childhood to this one, I did. (was also the first in my neighborhood to beat it, even my friend's parents couldn't do so). My fave memory was taking on the crab boss with no guns AND WINNING!

I remember getting this for the NES in 88 when I was ten years old for Christmas and even wrote Nintendo Power on how to traverse the final area and get to the Plutonium boss in 89 lol! Now on an emulator or even my original NES it doesn't take very long to run through for shits and giggles BUT I've never done a speed run and I may just have to. Lava caves bg music is also the final boss battle music and by far the best. Longest level was 5 the underwater area due to the SLOW fall.

@lordlouie35505 жыл бұрын
PrekiFromPoland the best strat for boss three, which is the multiplying cube, is to fire grenades up close when new ones spawn in, and when they stop spawning, maneuver around and avoid their shots, taking the opportunity to fire a few grenades each time it switches to a new cube.

I always wanted someone to use the chip that made the music for this game to play the Airwolf theme because parts of Area 2 totally sound like it would be an 8-bit version of that theme. I know that there already is an NES, as well as arcade, game of Airwolf, but I kind of felt like the music chip that Sunsoft made for this game would be a much better way to play the theme of that show.
