i realized i only played the SNES not the NES much the NES was like space games and this one jumping game with birds and lava and stuff lol and i'm sitting here thinking i had no idea disney made some games before winnie the pooh's gameboy advance . I would play little mermaid right now and mickey... what's next 101 dalmatians? real question is how come do you think Disney never really got the clientele they wanted in the gaming industry i feel like the games were actually fun and competitive before the italian plumber on mushrooms era.... i guess my big sis didn't really buy all those questing games like i remember playing 4 swords later on, all i did between 5 and 8 was super mario world then moved up to like... gamecube and again... didn't even buy spyro or anything just went straight to mario kart i feel both bad and okay about this .... i'll play games till my deathbed now for sure.

No wonder I couldn't defeat the majority of NES final bosses. It seems like the best strategy is to just rush while taking damage at the same time.

Hard to say without knowing the whole game. Some of these can be, ironically enough, flexes, if you've dodged enough of the enemies up until then that you can AFFORD to tank them, so it's not something you have to do, it's something you can do. But yeah, some of them are just free. Lolo 2 @25:12 is a puzzle game, it doesn't even need bosses, the puzzles like 1/2 of the way through the game are waaaaay trickier than that boss, if they can even be compared. There's also A Boy and His Blob (not in video) that has some really tough platforming/shooting parts, especially in the late game which can really steal your lives, but the final boss is basically just some fat guy sitting there waiting for you to press A 3 times.
