Not only was this my introduction to JRPG & RPG In general, but this game holds a special place in my heart for another reason I'd like to mention here. My father and I didn't have the best relationship when I was growing up. He had his issues and we didn't have much in common, nor did we do much of anything together. One day he came down the basement where I was playing this very game to tell me to come upstairs for dinner. I happened to be fighting the green dragon to rescue the princess which caught his attention. I was 10. From that day, until he passed away when I was 25. We played tons of rpg together. It was the one thing we had

It's like you read my diary 🤣 Also my first JRPG. Also have always had a strained relationship with my mom, but she saw me playing this one day and she was totally into it. She started her own file and we'd take turns watching each other play. It's one of the very few times she joined me in my world, and one of my fondest memories.

My first RPG too. I was blessed to have a wonderful relationship with my Dad. We went on so many adventures together, both in real life and in the video games we'd play together. Friday nights, we'd jump in the car and spend hours in the arcade watching quarters evaporate into Gauntlet. I'd huddled in close around our 1st PC to play through the King's Quest games, offering suggestions for overcoming the series many puzzles. Playing through Faxanadu on NES together was a special memory too. I'm sorry so many people have had strained relations with their parents, but I'm happy to see so many have been able to meet them in a positive space thanks to the magic of video games.
@luvmenow332 жыл бұрын
@@Grail_Quest yea. It really is rough and sticks with you but you just brought back some great memories. Faxanadu was big for us to . Also Final Fantasy One. My mom snapped out when. we called the Nintendo Hint Line 5 times while trying to BEAT SHADOWGATE & the phone bill was like $500. We didn't get into PC gaming until my father remarried and my stepmother had a PC around maybe 1994. I'd see him on weekends once every other month. Sometimes more. We best KINGS QUEST 5 But I remember trying to play Myst, phantasmagoria, and Night Trap But never getting them to work right. This was before plug and play

Either that, play a little Super Mario Bros, not get very far, then try prince of persia, and think that there was only one level in the whole game because I couldn't last for more than a few minutes without dying. Wasn't there a secret in the naming of your character? depending on the naming of your character, you get different stats ability. So you had to come up with a name that gave the best ability to start out with. I'm sure somebody remember this. Or maybe I got the wrong game, but I'm positive I remember this in this game.

Yeah. If you named your character "TEST" you had high stats. Naming your character "ENIX" gave you lower stats.

FuujinZakii Names did matter in exactly the way you desribed. IIRC, when you were about to level up, most of the times the gains in HP and MP were the same but sometimes they were randomly different (lower). I would always save before a level then make sure I got the biggest gain.
