I am from India 🇮🇳 and one thing I would admit that due to these old games we got to learn all the rules off a lot of sports in the world, be it Tennis, Baseball, Basketball, Football, NHL, and many others. There was no broadcast of Baseball, NBA or NHL, back then, and even now only NBA is broadcasted here. But I know almost all the rule of these sports because of these video games. I am glad I was born in this era where I got to play these video games before migrating to 3D games.

I was coming here to ask about that. It happened exactly ONCE to me. I want to say it was called "Rain Delay" or something before the game was "called". I searched the internet and only found vague references to it. I think it was somehow influenced by the score (and not a ten-run rule type thing either). I'd love to know what did it. Ironically, I think it was raining for real outside at the time (I know that's not why it happened).

My sister found this "very slow" trick. When we as a pitcher threw ball at your rival's player, just hold UP & DOWN buttons while you press X button. The ball went very slowly below 20 km/hr, even 1 km/hr. We call it "IMPOSSIBALL" since it was very hard to hit this ball.

This game was part of series that included other sports games titled as the sport they are. I spent so much time playing Baseball and Ice Hockey as a kid. I always ended up playing baseball by myself because none of my friends liked it but Ice Hockey. Oh the fights we used to have. Great memories.

Is it just me or did this get the dimensions perfectly right between the ball being hit, OF arm strength, and baserunner speed? It felt like when the ball was hit to the gap, the right amount of runners scored. Hit hard in the INF? Double play. Baseball games the next 37 years are still struggling with this.

+Peter Gast Yeah I have found this glitch too. You have to press all dpad directions at the same time and then the ball would travel at like 3 mph. The spin could be controlled in flight, so it looked like the ball was remotely controlled. It was fun to annoy friends with it because the ball was very hard to hit like this.
