@@capofthink I'm not sure if I'd call the humor random/nonsense. Maybe a little slapstick, but Return of the Killer Tomatoes was fantastic. I think it could have a decent run if it was rebooted.

I was just refreshing my memory about the Killer Tomatoes franchise a couple days ago and now this pops up! Wild. I remember playing this game as a youngster. Like most games in my childhood, I played it for awhile, never beat it, and eventually moved on to a different game...and the cycle repeated itself.

I should have said that there were some good novel things about this game.Firstly there is a streetlight effect,which is nicely done.The anti-gravity bit near the end is also unusual for a NES game.

Yup the gravity thing was ahead of its time. Metalstorm, Rad Gravity and Mega Man 5 (Gravity Man’s stage) made it more popular or at least had same concept and people were blown away by it especially Mega Man since the theme worked well for that boss and was one of the popular games

I recall being both amazed and bewildered as a youngster at how bizzare and zany the cartoon was.But I did like watching it from time to time. I wouldn't like playing this game though.This game has very uninspired gameplay and is obviously an attempt to cash in on the appeal of the B-movie and fans of the cult cartoon. The title music is the best bit about the game sadly

It's actually quite good considering it's a licensed game from the NES era. It's better than most licensed stuff for the console.

Speaking from personal experience, what you're not seeing from this recording is how absurdly specific the hit detection on it actually is. Our player manages to do it all in one life, but you're still seeing them take hits when the opposite should have been true, and that's the norm for this title. Not close to the worst, but it does have a lot of massive flaws that don't come across in almost as close as you can get to a perfect run.
