I never beat this game that I can remember, but my brother did. He managed to get a few loops in, even. I didn't play it as much as he did, though: I mistook the Broderbund crowns on the title screen for grinning mouths, and that combined with the opening notes of the music tended to scare me. (In my defense, I was around 4 at the time.)

Oddly enough this game was made easier by using a turbo button for jumping. If you hold the turbo jump button while leaving a rope you will jump safely away rather than falling to your death because you were ONE FRAME LATE.

@@bennynutts16 oh I've played hard games, never broke a controller though playing a game I've swore at games yes when they're piss me off after struggling at a certain part but never broke a game controller as thats just bad, like especially when its this game that you broke the controller over like it looks boring its just one hit kill platformer like wheres the challenge in it? be better off playing Minecraft as at least then you get to build and mine and have more option what you wanna do

Like Bennynuts said, you obviously never had this game as a 6 year old. I have Cuphead too, and yes it’s equally as hard. Spelunkers requires absolute precision in every single move you make. Maybe the rest of us just aren’t as awesome as you are.

Great job completing the game. Very talented player here. As with all challenges, this game takes much practice to complete and conquer. I do prefer this NES version over the arcade version, which is also good. I enjoy this game, but can only get to the 2nd or 3rd map and then play another game.
