I worked at FuncoLand from 2000-2002, it was the golden era for retro collecting

I wish I had my current knowledge of retro games back while FuncoLand was still open. I still have one of the newspapers with the prices in it and you would 💩 seeing how cheap things are compared to now!

Shits crazy man! Back then, I thought stuff was expensive and with 90’s/early 2000’s money, it kinda was, but now it’s dirt cheap in comparison
@zombiejlt16 ай бұрын
I'll say, I loved walking in there and seeing those newspaper price guides. The idea I could have gotten Wayne's World or Zombie Nation for a few cents was crazy. I think SMB/DH was an $0.08 cart lol.
@zombiejlt16 ай бұрын
@@FamicomFanatic Don't we all, I didn't have internet at the time so I went into collecting with instinct, watching what carts came and went, what stayed, and bargain bin pricing. There was once a time where LITTLE SAMSON was a bargain bin game at $3.

Ok I’ve commented a balls ton on this video already 😂 My crown jewel for NES/Famicom is Gimmick. I paid a lot for it, but it’s an incredible game and I’m really happy to own it. The Switch release doesn’t control as well as the original to me, but still cool they’ve released it to a wider audience beyond Japan and Scandinavia!

Nice list! I’ve got a small collection of about 40 games that are all really good but none are that expensive. Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out or the Limited Run Games reprint of Metal Storm is probably the most valuable. There are so many good NES games for under $30.
@FamicomFanatic6 ай бұрын
Value can be a good thing, but that doesn’t always mean a good game unfortunately. Look at Cheetahmen II, which is a total turd, Stadium Events for $16k…you’re much better off with stuff like Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! Relatively cheap and an amazing game!

While at one point I did have a loose Little Sampson that I got in a pretty inequitable trade (in their favor), I've sold off most of what I once had. I do still have Dragon Fighter though. It was $2 lose at the library when they were getting into SNES games.... Later I managed to trade some other stuff for a box and manual though. So there is that for NES. My most cherished/prized game of my whole collection though is probably Shadowrun on Genesis... (and I put it above the full US WiiU set including the NY special Zelda with Scarf)

Good vid as always guys with some interesting facts on your games on that oh so cheap system haha (insert wry smile here) It's bad enough trying to get the wii games which brings me to the most expensive game im my library for the Wii & Wii U... I would say it's between 100 or so titles as it's getting so ridiculous to buy a cheap title at the moment on the Wii especially with all the shipping costs but I will say the one game I am glad I managed to get early on for the Wii is the sealed white cardboard sleeved demo of Mario party 9 because I have not seen anotger of those for sale ever so wouldn't like ro be looking for it 😊 I only own one NES game however so that's the most expensive game in my NES collection and that's mario party 3 😊 it is the only game I have for the NES but it's boxed and complete and cheap unlike the US version. I recently sold a Philips CDI system with link game and 7th Guest etc I guess that will be an expensive system some day haha. Great stuff lads 😊

I def don't have the heat you got at the top end, or least at the very top, grant it I got some games for the NES, but in my area, they are not really out there as much as stuff such as PS2 forward (or even PS1 for that matter), essentially if it cartridge games, I don't see it often, and when I do most of the time, people can be delusional on what they have and are WAY off the mark - to the point I feel like I'd be too insulting making an offer on some of it. Killer list for sure. #Roadto50k

tough to clout collect with 10 games = 1600 some dollars. The big shelf collectors spend that on 1 game alone, or more than that just for a manual.
