Fun fact, here's what the manga authors have to say about the majoras mask side story "The series launched at almost the same time as the game release, so that meant at the start we couldn't reference the actual game play, we had seen the opening demo and the intro images, but that wasn't enough to fill up all the pages. After pondering the problem for a while, we decided to write an original story... something symbolic, like a myth, which would fit in well but didn't need to match the game's specific details. So we took the overall impressions we got from majoras mask and put them into story form in a grand way. The story is entirely separate from the main one, but we hope you enjoy it just as much!" - Akira Himekawa 2001

Interesting note. After Link returned to his childhood he warned Zelda what Ganondorf was planning and what was going to happen. Ganondorf would be caught and charged by the Royal Family to be executed which we see the attempt in Twilight Princess. The Gerudo hearing that their king is about to be executed started a war in which they lost. Sending them to exile. In Four Swords Adventures which is after Twilight Princess and Ganondorf's death the Gerudo are back however as the curse continues a new male gerudo was born and he became Ganon by stealing the trident.

I believe the explanation for how Link doesn't get lost in the Lost woods permanently is Navi. He has a fairy from the forest helping him, so if he takes a wrong turn, he simply ends up where he started instead of eternally lost. Then, the theory follows, when he goes searching for Navi after the events of OoT, he DOES end up lost in the Lost woods, which causes him to become the Stalfos as seen in Twilight Princess.

@@ummygummy5346 The dead thing can’t be true because Link from Twilight Princess is a direct blood descendant of the Hero of Time, meaning that Link cannot have died as a child during or before Majorca’s Mask. I've heard 2 theories on the fierce deity: 1) it's been long assumed that termina is a parallel universe of Hyrule. It having an exact counterpart of each person. With that being said, the theory goes that the fierce deity is the Link of termina who died before the events of Majora's mask. 2) (my favorite one) The fierce deity is actually the 4th god or goddess of the triforce who symbolizes justice, punishment, wrath, or order and is the upsidedown triangle in the center of the triforce. This being is incredibly powerful (ie. Has there own special divine sword). Being the center upsidedown triangle symbolizes that there actions is solely dependent on the will of the 3 goddesses who call upon them when desperate action is required.
@seereebee3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I prefer the second theory too. I always assumed that Links termina counterpart was Tingle. I know that sounds like a joke but there's really no one else it could be. He's not a Kokiri so he ages just like Link, plus the fact that he doesn't have a fairy.
@PepeTheJonkler2 жыл бұрын
The ones who made Majora's Mask had their own Link/Hero of Time, who is actually portrayed within the manga. If I remember properly, Majora is portrayed as a dragon that wants to rest, and Link had to put him to rest. One of the scales was the thing that was fashioned into Majora's Mask. Well, the Fierce Deity mask is the yin to Majora's yang. The creators of both masks (who, basically, sealed away both the villain *and* the Hero of Time) were the ones sealed away in time and dimension in order to suffer penance for abusing the Tetraforce to do so. This led to two options: The Ancient Realm in BOTW, or the Twili from TP. The Tetraforce likely would have led to the resurgence of Ganon, Zant's madness from a potential Majora's Bind/Curse, and Ganon's strengthening after the death of Zant occurs. Sealing him away would have led to a seal on the Triforce of Power, whiiiich the Tetraforce could have broken and gone to the extent of allowing it to corrupt the Triforce of Wisdom (Possessed Zelda from TP).

Totally agree with you about the lack of information making games more magical. I've got an 8-year-old cousin that I like to share these old games with. She particularly likes Pokemon and Zelda, but whenever she's curious about something she just...looks it up online. Like she said that she used a walkthrough for most of OOT, which made me die a little inside. Figuring out how to beat OOT with my neighbor and brothers was a highlight of my childhood, and I think she inadvertently cheated herself out of something special. I didn't say anything because she's 8 and I didn't want to upset her, but it did give me a little perspective on what we've lost in this age of information. Occasionally she'll tell me things like "My friend said you can get a shiny if you do this" or "I heard there's a way to get the Master Sword early," things like that. The playground rumor is still alive, but it's not near what it was when I was a kid

My take on the "Hero falls timeline" is that the the Triforce gave each of the holders a future where they are most important. The adult timeline games seem to have a slight focus more on Zelda, the child timeline games are more Link centered, and the "Fallen" timeline are mostly where Ganon is in power.
@robintst3 жыл бұрын
It's an interesting take and I'd be on board with it, as if the Goddesses weren't actually aspects of good but only seek to maintain a perpetual balance of the eternal fight between good and evil and the Triforce was their way of ensuring it. I think a lot of folks are just going with "multiverse" in a more generic sense, probably based on Zelda in Breath of the Wild being aware of events that happened in different timelines and it's possible they all converged back into a single timeline at some point between the known ends of each split and known history of BotW's point of view.
@IamSupreme3333 жыл бұрын
Except that the Downfall Timeline is a what-if scenario based upon Link dying against Ganon. The 2 other timelines both occur at the same time, but parallel universes due to Link being sent back by Zelda to basically the beginning of OoT, where he warns Zelda and the King of Hyrule. This leads to TP, while simultaneously the Adult timeline continues even after Link is sent back to the past.

Hello! I am actually a user who slightly assisted LeroySinclair in building this iceberg. I helped with several entries. I can assure you that none of these entries are “joke entries,” although some are a bit outlandish. My main criticism of this final draft of this iceberg is that some entries are either too high or too low for my personal tastes. That, and sometimes it builds too much off the Mario 64 Iceberg. But I guess if any iceberg is going to do that, Zelda 64 would have the most reason to. Regardless, I am fairly pleased with the final product and am thankful that you took the time to cover this. I’m glad I subscribed. I’ve been living and breathing icebergs lately. Anyways, if you want to ask me any questions, I can comment on pretty much every entry on the iceberg.

I consulted him on a few points, but the main one I couldn't find anything on, as I said in the video, was the "unintended lens of truth locations". Do you know what that's all about?
@romantisanon46473 жыл бұрын
@@NEScRETRO Ah. I figured you might ask about that. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to it. Basically, it invokes the theory of “what if there was content that you missed?” It refers to the feeling you might have had when first playing the game. Should I use the lens here? What if there is an invisible monster or npc? What is lurking just out of sight? Are there secrets hidden in strange areas? Maybe there is a hidden dungeon here? I personally remember being younger and being afraid that an invisible monster or trap could be lying in wait anywhere. I constantly used the lens everywhere. The lens of truth opened you up to a completely new dimension that was hardly utilized, but could still somehow bring about a sense of paranoia. Who was to say how much of the game was actually invisible? It was unnerving to think of the possibility that you could return to Kokiri Forest and use the lens to uncover a secret that had been waiting for you from the very start of the game... Who knows? Maybe there is still invisible content? Will you be the first to find it? Are the devs hiding a terrible secret somewhere? (Joking) 😝 That’s essentially it. “Unintended locations” just refers to all of the nonspecific places that theoretically could’ve had something invisible hidden in them. I’ve heard that many people thought to use it in the desert to interact with the pyramid or make more pyramids appear. Sorry there isn’t much to it. 😅 it’s more of a feeling/experience than a specific location or secret. But again, thanks for taking the time to delve into this. It means a lot.

But thats really interesting, I now wish I explained it more as a fear/phobia, as those sorts of things always lend themselves nicely to icebergs, but oh well. Also, I totally get what you mean about the placement of certain things. Ben drowned should be higher consider its the most famous video game creepypasta next to lavender Town Syndrome. Also, some of the glitch ones, but then again, if they were all grouped together, it would be a bit of a drag to talk about them all in a row, so i guess I actually prefer them spread throughout lol. The N64 games are the ones I’m most familiar with, so I’m excited that I was able to help partake in the meme. But yeah. Placement was definitely weird. I just helped discuss and research certain entries for the iceberg. I had little, if any, say in the placement. Oh well. Ah! Before I forget. There is one thing I would like to add on to: “Evil is rewarded with Heaven;” Koume and Kotake are killed. Their ghosts appear. But they are depicted as having halos and ascend into the heavens at the end of their cutscene. This is weird enough as it is, but the implications for religion, free will, morality, and the afterlife within Hyrule are heavy. Does evil truly exist? Is that why Ganon is never truly killed/erased but only pacified/sealed away? Are the Goddesses and Demise just playing a game with everyone? Is this why Majora is so playful; “Lets play good guys against bad guys”? Is everyone simply a piece being used by them only to be called up to Heaven upon their deaths as a reward for "being good players/toys" in their game? Are the villains and heroes subconsciously driven to fulfilling their roles for the Goddesses’ amusement? The Twinrova defeat cutscene was honestly just a joke, but if looked at from an in-universe perspective, it raises a lot of weird questions about existentialism within Hyrule. It’s definitely a crackpot theory, but I guess that’s why it’s in the bottom layer hahaha

The armor, who h was actually filled with evil power, was rumored to grant wishes, but Majora the dragon killed anyone and everyone who came to try and take it. Majora assumed the fierce deity was coming to try and kill him as well for the armor, but instead caused him to dance for three days in turn killing Majora and then turned it into a mask, hoping to seal the evil power of the armor, which unfortunately didn’t work.

Anyway when we first met zelda and she asked us for links name, link of course responded with Zelda. Zelda responded with "Really? That's my name too!" @@daydreams6956 right - especially when the memory is from childhood, it's more likely our young minds simply misunderstood something at the time. Our older minds then retroactively attempt to explain the mistaken conclusion, which still might not be rational. As for shared false memories, these are also possible AFAIK. Besides, all it takes is for one kid to come to such a conclusion and point it out to another kid, who can then easily adopt the same idea (if they don't just call BS on it) and thus end up with an identical/similar false memory that's reinforced whenever it's brought up again. Take a personal example of a false memory. When I was very small, I believed I had 'another family' and could describe who was in it. When I later told my mum, she explained that I was describing her sister's family, which I met when I was even younger. The inexplicable idea of some 'other family' was just a child's understanding of one of my hazy very first memories.

I personally liked when there were no timelines and fans could just debate it on their own. but the link dying timeline does make sense to me with the retro games bc it adds credence as to why there would be games with more monsters and ruin. as well as explaining ganon retaining the triforce and never reverting back to his gerudo form in those games.

I think it's poorly named, rather than Hero Falls it should have been something like "Hero disappears". Similar to like a multiverse, there's a timeline where Link disappears after taking the sword from the Temple of Time. This then creates another timeline where Link succeeds as an adult and life continues on without him when he then returns the sword back to the Temple of Time but rather than Link returning he instead creates another timeline where he retains the knowledge he had and prevents Ganondorf from taking power.
@yugiohdeloestepr3 жыл бұрын
@@Jbrickzz_Official Do I understand this correctly? The theory was that basically Twilight Princess timeline Ganon thrived at the absence of Link? This makes so much more sense. The problem with the downfall timeline has always been the fact that this is a timeline with Twinrova alive, and the description of the Imprisoning War not matching the events of OOT when Ganon kills Link. How are there even knights alive to give up their lives for the Sages. Not to mention how bad it is have a timeline when OOT Link loses. The timeline can be more easily explained if Link never intervened in Ocarina of Time (and with good reason). And while at it, let's talk about how Four Swords can be their own timeline with no Triforce or at the very least no Master Sword. To me the theory that there is a timeline where Zelda never returns Link to his childhood after beating Ganon fixes this theory. It would also split the timeline in 4. The Twilight Princess and Wind Waker timeline and the timeline of no Wind Waker (Adult Link stayed and thus there was a hero so no need to flood Hyrule). And a timeline where Twilight Princess doesn't happen but A Link to the Past does since Link didn't snitch on Ganon. I am more of a fan of this theory.
@JFTSwiertz2 жыл бұрын
"Hero is defeated" is such a poor name for it, it makes more sense if you consider it any form of link isn't there, if he dies, or whatever let's Ganon be victorious I don't remember where I heard it, but I like the idea of the Hero defeated timeline is the abandoned timeline, at the end of OoT link goes back to around the time of his first meeting with Zelda, blah blah, leads to majoras and tp. But what about that timeline you play through in the child parts of OoT post master sword pull? Any timeline where Ganon goes drunk on triforce power and can't unpig himself is the original games timeline.

I used to think there was some way to skip the entire forest temple. Maybe on my first playthrough of OOT, I got my friend to do the temple for me because I was stuck, but I remember using Din's fire to light the torches and activating the elevator. Then, obviously, the elevator went up instead of down and took me to the sky temple, because Nintendo would clearly design a dungeon just to hide it behind some random condition like lighting an elevator on fire. Then, after getting the tetraforce from the sky temple, I unlocked the fierce diety mask and Ganon's horse. After going back down the elevator, I was suddenly in womp's fortress in Super Mario 64. After getting the 100 coin star, I cartridge swapped to Majora's Mask, which unlocked Majora's mask, which would unlock sonic in the original super smash bros for exactly 13 hours when worn.

"They're all just individual stories unless stated otherwise" My brother in Hylia, that is all of them. Even before Hyrule Historia there was very clear connective tissue across a number of the games. As you stated, OoT and MM are directly linked to each other. So are Zelda 1 and 2. As for A Link to the Past, well its in the name. Wind Waker's intro shows what happened after Zelda sent Adult Link back and caused him to dissappear from thar timeline. After defeating Puppet Ganon, the real Ganondorf remarks "You are indeed the Hero of Time reborn." Twilight Princess has the Hero’s spirit who, even without the direct confirmation from HH, is still strongly implied to be the same Link from OoT and MM, given he knows the Song of Healing and was a previous weilder of the Master Sword. BotW has a cutscene where Zelda, when giving Link the Master Sword, directly mentions every past weilder in the timeline. Skyward Sword was always established as the furthest back in the timeline before HH's release, and the ending of that game sets up future events. We can split hairs and nitpick about the finer details and the placement of other games all day, but there is definitely evidence of a timeline behind the scenes or at least a basic framework there. There's a downfall timeline because one, it's the game that splits the timeline in the first place and the other Links aren't creating other timelines, and two, because the Hero’s defeat leads directly into an event known as the Imprisoning War which sets up the events of the classic games. The placement of the games taking place after Link dying somehow making them less canon or less significant is definitely a weird take. I really don't think Nintendo views it this way, especially with Link Between Worlds being such a massive love letter to this specific era of Zelda games. I've always found the myth that Nintendo released an official timeline specifically to get fans to stop arguing as very silly, especially with how notorious the company is for not caring about fan debates or requests.

Then you can stand near the edge of the platform, close to where you would begin to fall due the slope being to steep. You have to stand pretty close to the edge, but it's certainly possible.

No no, you’re not understanding “OOT changed my life” and I say that in the kindest most non-confrontational manner possible. I first played this game when I was maybe 4. The Nintendo 64 was the first console I had any real experience with, and, sure, I also played & loved other classics like Golden Eye with my brothers, Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Mario 64, Pokemon Stadium/Snap, Starfox-the list goes on. But OOT? Man, that s*** really did change my life. It’s what made me fall in love with gaming. It was the first game I would willingly skip meals or lose sleep over. It was the first game that I played so much that I had dreams about it. A game I’ve played so much to exhaustion at this point that I know it inside and out. The open world, the colours, the models, the gameplay, the puzzles, the challenge, all to someone who had never cared much for video games before picking it up. This video game introduced me to a world [video games] that would later on become a huge part of my life. I’d even go so far as to say this game was my safe space. Having a bad day? Play OOT. Got bullied at school again? Get lost in the open world of OOT. Parents yelled at you and you felt alone? Talk to NPCs until you learned their speech word-for-word. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed? Sit in the open world and just listen to the OST. This game made me. On top of being a huge comfort I had as a kid, it also opened up an entire franchise to me, one of which I fell in love with. The original Zelda? Classic. Skyward Sword? Link Between Worlds? /BOTW/?! Just amazing. I owe countless hours and entertaining time surfing on the web to this franchise and to this game. So many hours I spent making fan art of my own, writing innocent fan fiction, so many friends I made that I still talk to to this day. Heck, I owe my art/drawing *and* writing hobbies solely to this game. This game introduced me to a world of creativity. And so many times, this game was the only one to wipe away my tears and encourage me to carry on, comforting me in times of tragedy. This game was my best friend growing up. This. Game. Changed. My. Life.

I just looked up "chateau" and it refers to "a large French country house or castle, often giving its name to wine made in its neighborhood." Example: "Château Margaux". So I think Chateau Romani must be an alcoholic drink made from or mixed with milk. I always knew it was a name for a type of estate so the item always confused me but the association with vineyards is new info to me and now a lot of things make a whole lot more sense. A while back I read that in an earlier stage of development, the swordplay was much more complex allowing you to do different types of slashes and manually jump. It was probably inspired by Zelda 2. But it was probably too complex so they dumbed it down to a simple three slash combo. Looks like that beta footage shows the older sword combat they worked on. It would have been pretty cool but way ahead of its time. There definitely was a loose continuity between the games from the beginning. The entire Zelda 1 map is the southern tip of the Zelda 2 map. LttP was always said to be a distant prequel to Zelda 1. And Ocarina of Time was originally conceived as depicting the Imprisoning War mentioned in LttP. After that the continuity building was much more intentional in the main console games which I think not coincidentally coincides with Eiji Aonuma's recruitment to the Zelda dev team. After that it's pretty obvious Wind Waker and Twilight Princess were made to be sequels to Ocarina and Majora in different timeline branches, as confirmed during their development by Aonuma himself as well as in-game text. At that point they should have put all the old school pre-OoT games into a separate parallel universe instead of relegating them to the "Downfall" branch just to make fans happy with a single timeline but to say there was no intended continuity is just a straight up mistruth. They just didn't think too deeply about it and made up the Downfall timeline when Aonuma kept adding sequels that demanded continuity while conflicting with the loose canon established earlier on. I think the Minish Cap and Four Swords games are the worst fit in the timeline and they really bent over backwards to make them fit instead of just making those games their own Four Swords universe.
@joshm23053 жыл бұрын
I always just figured that the Downfall timeline made sense because he first used his pig beast form canonically in Ocarina, and then became used to it and grew stronger and ruled over hyrule more and more as time passed, idk just a thought 🤷

I loved this video, it was so in-depth on some of the things I noticed as a kid but never looked into. Most of my Zelda memories lie with Majora's Mask and it will probably always be one of my favourtie Zelda games. My only complaint with the video is the last part, where the music holds this really loud and constant note the whole way through. It was a bit loud and distracting when not listening with headphones and I could barely hear you over it. Other than that, great work, it was a hell of a video and I had so much fun watching that it even seemed like it was shorter than it really was!

When you said "all the kids I meet while playing Ocarina of Time (...) I no longer really talk to them or know what happened to them, and while that may sound depressing, it's just life (...) it's just the way it goes" you just proved how much influence Ocarina have on you. Remember: time passes, people move... Like a river's flow, it never ends.

One thing overlooked on the triforce menu thing, the lighting source (assuming the medallions and heart pieces are hollowed/recessed) is at the top left, leaving shadows in that same corner (again assuming a recess for the medallions and heart container) this means that there is not a hollowed out spot for the triforce, but instead a raised area as the shadows are on the bottom right section, meaning the raised portion blocks the light. I don't think I've heard anyone put this point forward, but its worth noting.

There's also an interesting connection between the Gorons, Gerudos, and Ikana: On the Road to Ikana and in the Stone Tower Temple, the player encounters an enemy called Nejiron, which essentially resemble cursed Gorons. We also find the Gorons' region in OoT and the Ikana region to be similar environments; mountain and canyon. "Death Mountain" would've also been a more appropriate name for the Ikana region. Additionally, There's Dampé, who watches over the Kakariko Graveyard in OoT and the Ikana Graveyard in MM. The Shadow Temple is the dead/undead dungeon in OoT, and it's in Kakariko, next to Death Mountain; similarly, Ikana is the dead/undead land in MM, which is a mountain/canyon environment, like Death Mountain. Next, there's the connection between the Triforce and the Spiritual Stones along with their corresponding races: The Goron's Ruby corresponds to Din, contained in the Triforce of Power, which is obtained by Ganondorf, a Gerudo. The Gerudos also have red hair, alluding to the 'red/fire' attribute. The Gorons and Gerudos have other similarities as well; environmental (mountain/canyon and desert/valley, both dry) as well as biological (Gorons being all-male, from what I know at least, and the Gerudos being all-female with the exception of Ganondorf; male Gerudos being born every 500 years, iirc.) Another short observation is that in the original NES LoZ, the player fights Ganon in Death Mountain. A final similarity being the temples: the Fire Temple, Spirit Temple, and Stone Tower Temple all have some Eastern references (Fire Temple had Islamic chanting, and a "fire temple" is a place of worship in Zoroastrianism; Spirit Temple makes references to Egyptian, Persian, and Indian culture; Stone Tower Temple alludes to the Tower of Babel). There's also some similarities between the Spirit Temple and Stone Tower Temple; both are the final temple of each game, both reference symbolism of duality in some way, both allude to desertous environments, and both have bosses fought in pairs and with similar names (Twinrova and Twinmold).

Maybe not insightful to the timeline, but it's worth noting that OoT seems to put a stronger emphasis on the sun while MM has a stronger emphasis on the moon. In OoT, one of the central aspects of the game is the Temple of Time because it's the location Link uses to travel in and out of the child and adult timeframes; The symbolism found on the Door of Time and on those giant blue blocks in some of the adult dungeons depicts the sun and beams of light emanating from it. There's also the Triforce in general, with the Golden Goddesses alluding a lot to light. Taking the Master Sword also brings about Link's transition to his adult age, where he is a Hylian, and he first meets Rauru, the Light Sage, whom is also Hylian. Zelda is of course Hylian as well. A lot of emphasis on the Hylian race. Additionally, the song we learn in the Royal Family's Tomb is the "Sun's Song", which circles through the day and night cycle and stuns the ReDeads and Gibdos (alluding to 'light/life' defeating 'dark/death'). There's also the "Prelude of Light" which is the Warp Song for the Temple of Time. (The Ocarina of Time and Master Sword utilizing blue and yellow could also allude to blue skies and sunlight, along with Link and Zelda's blue eyes and blonde hair.) Kind of a joke here, but worth interpretation as well: the overall atmosphere of OoT is more lively and uplifting, suggesting 'sunlight/daytime', while MM's overall atmosphere is despairing/depressing and revolves around death, suggesting 'moonlight/night/darkness', which fits the central theme of the cursed Majora's Moon. The Hyrule Field theme even starts with the chime of the Sun's Song and induces a feeling of adventure/excitement and utilizes more major key notes, and even Hyrule Field itself has visually brighter graphics, while the Termina Field theme utilizes more minor key notes and evokes a more 'vigilant/unsettled' feeling, and is even kind of 'cloudy/overcast' and just somewhat visually darker than Hyrule Field overall. MM also has the quests that are completed at night, such as fighting "Them" (the aliens); more moon references. It's also interesting how defeating Ganon in OoT restores light (sunlight) to the Kingdom of Hyrule, while defeating Majora restores the natural state of the moon. Another kind of joke-y interpretation: the name "Majora's Mask" and central theme of the moon could be referring to a solar eclipse, where the moon 'masks' the sun in a sense.

45:32 the reason for the dance troupe hint was because if you wore certain masks (can't remember which ones) in Ikana Castle the ReDeads would just dance around rather than attack you. A theory about bootstrap paradoxes like that are that they are the result of a long line of variances. Initially, there was now song, and kid Link met them man, playing random notes. The man tell adult Link of said annoying random notes, prompting him to do the same to get a certain reaction or some such. When he goes pack, he plays different notes than initially due to the man not remembering the noise so well. This repeats, each time changing the notes slightly, over and over and over and over and over, until eventually the man thinks that the notes are a song, and begins to remember them slightly better. Knowing that it’s a song, though without the trauma of a sudden indoor storm, means the memory is still very weak, so the song, too, changes slightly each time this loop happens. Each time Link goes back, he plays an unknown song, based off of the poorly remember notes that the man gave him as an adult. Eventually, the notes line up just right to be the song of storms, and the resulting trauma of an INDOOR STORM burns the song into his mind, resulting in the loop as it is now.

The eye in the Fused Shadows is the same as Majora's Mask, there's also a Sheikah eye on the back too. I've always wondered what the lore implications were.
@mrtoxicwasteland3 жыл бұрын
The implication is that terminian shiekah sorcerers grew envious of hylian divinity and sought to.invade the realm of the gods and became dark interlopers of war fueled by their superiority complex. They met their fate at the hands of the light spirits when they were banished to a gap between light and dark, the twilight realm. In a twist of fate, one lone descendant of this dark tribe came closer than any of his kind to achieving his ancestors sinister goal, a destined recipient of a fragment of the golden goddesses power would also be exiled to the mysterious gap between dimensions for similar heretic crimes, ganondorf the king of thieves would manipulate and possess the man known only as zant and offer the hopeless and banished society a glimpse of true divine retribution. On a more tinfoil hat side note, some speculate the dimensional invasion had inside assistance by friendly shiekah who betrayed the royalty of hyrule and sided with their terminian mask-wielding counterparts after growing tired of serving the relatively helpless royal family for countless millennia thus explaining the distrust we see between shiekah and the royal family after the events of the interloper war, the secrecy surrounding the mask of truth in ocarina of time, evidence of conspirators and traitorous shiekah like bongo bongo as well as a general plot to control or should I say, understanding the shiekah people had of their technological and tactical superiority over the kingdom of hyrule as well as many other curiosities between the shiekah and the royal family pre and post-interloper war. Conclusion: a plot to steal the triforce was lead by a clan of mask wielding sorcerers and aided by the shiekah, it resulted in the dissolution of the divine pact the shiekah had with the royal family to protect the chosen ones eventually leading to the downfall of the kingdom as seen in twilight princess when the protectors of the royal simply were not present to intervene due to being exiled during the attack giving the plot against the gods one final chance to be fulfilled.
