Jeff played in Malmo, Sweden on the 16th of June 2011... He finished the concert with this, and it was fantastic. I'm so happy that I could see Jeff live.

Only Jeff can fall on his ass still play amazingly & somehow STILL look cool doing it. The man is incredible.

Nobody can make the guitar sing like Jeff Beck!

Wow, when he fell his guitar sounded really vocal and human. Like something someone would say when they're stumbling. Really amazing.

1:19. Just proves he is human after all. What a guitarist!
@diegoferrari3341 Жыл бұрын
In fact, the mistake was at 1:53. At 1:19 he just falled down!

Listen to how the guitar is his voice, right before he falls, the guitar sounds like it's going: " ooh shit..." I love Beck.

@Eremancer, this wasn't meant to compete with an opera, but it most certainly shows Beck's creativeness and ability to play pretty much anything on the guitar. I think it is outstanding!

"...and ability to play pretty much anything on the guitar" - yet always sound like Jeff Beck, and no one else. 'Same for his stage presence.

Well like anything else it is personal preference. Jeff Beck has done it all! he has constantly evolved & changed genres. Played with a veritable WHO's Who in the music industry. I have seen him play fast & slow & IMHO watching him play something like this connects with most people on an emotional level much more than playing fast for the sake of playing fast. Yngwie malmsteen plays classical things on a guitar, but the emotional content isn't there. Beck's playing adds gravitas to it.

Jeff Beck, Has more Class in one finger than I have in all of mine, For me, it's just impossible to do anything that he does on the guitar, he has so much Talent,,, But I did Try,,, Have a look & say Hi kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpfGZKGJl853pM0

Wow. Something I never thought I'd see. Not the fall, he recovered with aplomb and a grin from that. At 1:30 he thinks he's made a mistake. Of COURSE he's wrong about that. So in 'correcting' it he put himself in the position of standing around looking lost on stage for the first verse, which he'd started to play like the second. Revel in the sight of this, something so rare. Jeff Beck, guitar in hand...fully human!! Still makes a really beautiful go of the aria too... God Bless JB

For Beck "speed" is merely an element.His motivations are intense emotion,atomic energy,experimentation and risk taking.Look at all the guitar heroes of today,from Vai to Bonnamassa.Like Clapton and Page they were all fully developed by their mid 20s and now frozen in time.NOT BECK! Now SIXTY EIGHT and STILL evolving.He picks w/ fingers,incorporates every technique from Charlie Christian to Cliff Gallup to Jimi to create an incredible,unmistakble sound with awesome range.He IS THE GREATEST.

@rodentcafeteria dude i totally agree... i timed myself at my fastest playing 18 notes per second and i can make a medal backing track and shred to it easily when i don't even play medal, i play blues.. and this slow perfect, precise playing is what amazes me.

@drockadam6 I heard that Jeff mopped the floor with Clapton. A lot of casual fans probably went to see Claptonas he is more famous. When I mention Beck to most people don't know him. After seeing him perform a set with EC though I guess they find out in a hurry who the MAN is.

1:19... I think it's just to cover up the fact that he's perfect.
@LorinTone13 жыл бұрын
I agree with rodentcafeteria. Ever fallen on yer butt onstage before and kept going? Not easy. Mr. Beck has hit his prime in the past few years and is now arguably the greatest electric guitarist out there. Well, ok, there's Mr. Clapton too. Classic stuff though.
@stevezane13 жыл бұрын
@rodentcafeteria You're right,but Jeff also can play fast..its even greater when you can shred fast and be able to crush a crowd with one note!

@Eremancer You are correct as it is meant for use as a vocal, but Jeff does a good job of this seeing that he is the master of making his guitar sound like a voice. Beatles producer has commented that Jeff is the only one that makes his guitar SING. BTW Andrea Bocelli has a couple great versions of the song on youtube as well as Pavarotti.

@rodentcafeteria yeah! take note on how he emontionally falls to the floor and make Verdi go suicidal!

@RabidRahker, sorry but you weren't paying much attention. The reunion of Cream was every bit as great as I remember the original. The fire is there.
@MacPro8CoreMan13 жыл бұрын
@RabidRahker OK... you got me... I don't know how to spell a man's name. I don't care. Not a big fan, just like his version of this song the best. This is KZbin, not a term paper. Spelling is loose at best in here. I'd suggest that you hold off on trying to "burn" people by correcting spelling or punctuation. As long as you get the point, whether you agree or not; don't sweat the small stuff. Peace.

Why is it every time I go to a "guitar" video, there's at least one sad person bashing "shredders" and saying that 1 note songs are the best thing in the world. In most cases, it's an excuse they make up for themselves for being too lazy to practice. Well, playing fast, slow.. It's all music. It's absurd playing only one way.
@RUKOCHILENO13 жыл бұрын
Creo que pudo ser mejor. :(

Boy did this ever SUCK!!! I'd heard he had a great version of this classic so I looked it up here. I can't remember being so disappointed in a long time. The guitar sounds like a cheap Hawaiian Luau. And what's with the Buck Rogers outfit there Jeff? I have to guess that the people that like this have never heard Pavorati's little diddy! LOL
