I love that you can link it to the nest alarm to unlock the door and cancel the alarm at the same time. Now if only you could lock the door & set the alarm.....

I haven’t been able to sync the Yale lock with the connect. I’ve installed the Nest thermostat and it connected perfectly, but haven’t been successful with lock. I’ve tried numerous resets too.

Hey, when you approach the door, that is locked...does the Nest door camera recognize you, then unlock the door, letting you in? I'm interested in that feature about being automatic for recognized/pre-approved people getting unlocked, without having to enter codes. Please advise...thanks greg

No. But what I like about it is if you unlock the door, you can set it to automatically turn off the alarm.

Paul Corrona The lock will still work. You just won’t get notifications or use your phone to lock or unlock.

Can you lock and unlock with Google home

clinton flahr You can only lock with Google Home voice commands. As a safety feature, it won’t let you unlock it. Just in case someone that knows you have it can’t yell “Hey Google, unlock front door!” from your porch and rob you blind.

Very solid lock. But will not work in 5ghz WiFi only work with 2.4ghz in addition ARRIS wifi router are not comparable with this product.

Jason O Keeffe I got this from the Nest site: You’ll get a notification from the Nest app when the lock’s batteries are getting low, and a second notification when they’re critically low. So you’ll have plenty of time to replace them before they’re dead. If you need, you can use a 9 Volt battery to temporarily charge the lock, so you can enter your passcode on the lock’s keypad to lock or unlock it.

problem will be to remember to keep the bottom lock unlock, otherwise u still need a key

I never use the bottom lock when I leave. Only when I’m home I lock the doorknob lock.

One thing I don't understand is, this isn't the deadbolt keypad. So you have to buy a deadbolt unit as well? Otherwise , at least for most main entrance doors, you have a dead bolt and a non-deadbolt lock. Seems ridiculous to have to buy 2 systems for a single door.

@@ChrispyThings Usually a front entry door has 2 locks. The lock with the handle/knob and a deadbolt lock. Most electronic kits either come in as a knob/handle lock kit or deadbolt kit. Does this kit come with electronic locks for both the knob/handle and the deabolt locks?

No this just controls the deadbolt.

@@155stw if you want this, get a new door handle that doesn't lock. Then put this on and only have a deadbolt. Most modern doors are like this, deadbolt only, no handle lock.

Don't buy this Nest X Yale lock! I have had to take 2 different locks from best buy because 2 different locks have failed after 3-5 weeks! its the most trash lock I have bought

Umm, EVERYONE has doors with holes in it. Google doors without knobs. See for yourself. If you have a lock or a doorknob, you have a hole. Do some research before you comment k bud. ✌️
