The way you deliver the message is outstanding, these visual queues are really easy to remember and apply.

One of the most interesting and ‘light-bulb moment’ padel tutorials I’ve seen, very clear and useful! I’d like to think I already move as suggested, but without really thinking about it. Consequently, I’m frequently moving to position - ie the more central ‘star’ - a bit too slowly. The more padel I play, the more I see it as like a game of chess, jockeying for dominance over the opponents in the rally, and stuff like this is so valuable in developing as a player. Brilliant, thanks for posting it!

Thanks for the insight! It is definitely a game of chess! That's what makes it so interesting at every level! :)

Easy and very logical - yet so easy to forget in the heat of the moment! Excellent use of visual aids to illustrate the point! Thanks for putting this up! 👍👍

Great video as always Sandy. There is one recommendation I would like to suggest. You mention positioning oneself around the second post and between the 1 and 2 glass division. This is great and all but not all courts are created the same way. Some may have 6 glass panels or even concrete walls. The fence structure can also be different. It would be great if you also mention the approximate distance in meters/feets from the net or the side wall. Keep it up!

I found this online: europadel66.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/construire-un-court-de-padel.jpg Here it states 8 meters for the 'zone securite'. That ends on the second post so half of that = 4 meters. To me, that sounds quite far from the net as it verges on being almost in the middle of the court. But with great footwork, it's probably correct. However if my opponents are slow and standing in the star, if it is 4 meters, I'm probably hitting down to their feet every time and then attack when they must lift their volley from low to high.
@joesepu2 жыл бұрын
@@ViknDilln 4 meters from the net is right. That is a good neutral position to start setting up volleys or settin up the center of your star as Sandy puts it. Realistically the opponent would need an amazing chiquita or lob for you to lose your position.
@ThePadelSchool2 жыл бұрын
That sounds right...the difficulty is that if they are closer (like 3m) and slow then they have 7m behind them to cover and it is more difficult to run backwards than forwards...

Interesting. I'll try this next time I play. I probably tend to play closer to the net looking for opportunities to kill the ball.

What if the opponent makes a low quick lob that is still unreachably high? It's very hard to make it back on time in that situation. IF I make it, I'm out of balance. Mostly my team mate gets ball in this situation. I try to get it but they don't want me to get it. But I've been suspecting that it's my job to get it to not get my team mate out of their position

Hi Sandy, where has been shot this video? I've spotted the "Italian Padel" brand of the court, are you here around?

No, this is on the outskirts of London, England. That is just the brand of court they used...

But isn't the star 'no-mans land'?
@ThePadelSchool Жыл бұрын
No, No mans land is from the service line up to the second post. The centre of your star should be in line with the second post or one step in front. The important bit is the centre of the star.
