I KEPT BREAKING my Mugen MTC2R at THE ROCH 2024 CTSR Race

I know that carbon fiber parts are stiffer and harder but I have always felt that it breaks easier than plastic. I usually stick with as much plastic parts as possible on my cars

I broke 2 lower CF arms thru the season of racing. That's lower than my average arm breaks over last few seasons with the plastic arm Tamiya TRF419 and TA07 Pro. I don't disagree that the CF is stiffer, but I've not found it easier to break.

Oh yea; good to know 👍I just have always felt that it seemed like it would break easier than plastic. I race off road only and I have seen that some of my cars have a ton of carbon fiber parts you can upgrade to but I have stuck with the plastic parts; maybe I’ll try some upgrades

Hopefully it's a small material quality issue that can be rectified with the manufacturer and not a design flaw.....

It's a design flaw (IMO). They kept that same 6mm grub from MTC2 thru MTC2R. Other Mugen Drivers I've spoken with also had to run longer grubs with bigger washers for reliability. The bearing carried axles are NEW in MTC2R, and are proving to be less reliable than the older MTC2 car. Some have swapped axles back to the older gen.

It definitely is a design that rewards not hitting the barriers. :) When it holds together it's the best TC I've ever had.. but never know when something's gonna let go after a hit.
