Many people love this version or cover of the song, I think that nobody sings it quite as well as Terry Steel, No disrespect to Luther implied. It is beautifully written..but to each his own as far as performance. Terry Steele has made his career keeping the legacy of LVD alive, and he is one of the most under rated singers ever. Just my opinion.

This song is on my top 5 songs of all time. I still can't get through listening to it without crying. It does make me miss my dad, even though we always had a strained relationship due to his issues with alcohol when I was a child. I know I will see him again, only next time it will be with no issues whatsoever. Only peace and joy and a lot of love.

I love your faith. God is taking care of your father. I lost my best friend (my dad) about 10 days ago due to severe Parkinson’s and pneumonia and the grief is horrendous. However, I know my father is no loner suffering. ❤❤

@@nenblom I am SO sorry for your loss! I remember that feeling all too well! It just about did me in when I lost my younger brother (he was 10 yrs. younger). He died a severe alcoholic and had grand mal seizures if he didn't drink every day. He passed on my parents' bed while they were on vacation. He called me every day, and my parents hadn't heard from him one day, so they called me. I hadn't heard from him that day either, so they called their next door neighbor to check on him. When he walked in, he found him with a spray can of air in his hand. We don't know if it was inhaling it that killed him or suicide or a seizure. No matter how it happened, he's gone far too young, but no longer hurting and missing his wife, who passed the year before him from diabetes complications. He tried to stop drinking, but couldn't. He needed help and couldn't get it. I still miss him and think of him every day. He was a great artist and would give people the shirt off his back if he thought it would help you, or his last dollar (he often did). It helps to think of the good times. Sorry this is so long, and again, I am so so sorry for your loss! So thankful you will see him again and he is no longer in discomfort, but rejoicing with my dad and brother in our Father's arms! I will pray for you. God bless you!

I went to his grave here in Easton, PA to water the flowers this morning. Me, dad and mom were all born in Sweden 🇸🇪 but we emigrated to the USA 🇺🇸 in 1981 and we have had a fantastic life here. I lost my dad about 10 days ago due to severe Parkinson’s and pneumonia. The grief is extremely deep. I cry every day, and I talk to my father every day. I take comfort in that he is with God now, and he is no longer suffering and no longer in pain. However, we still miss him very much. He was a wonderful father, husband to my mom and my best friend. We did everything together. Dad, this song is for you and may you RIP. ❤❤
