No echo no auto tune just her real voice...so beautiful... thats the talent

Usually, the ear piece lets the singer hear themselves singing over all of the musical accompaniment. Being able to hear yourself makes it easier to maintain a clear tone and pitch. When a singer has to take out their ear piece, it's often due to technical problems. If this happens and the singer is still able to stay on pitch and sound good, then you know that they truly are a skilled performer.

In a room full of musicians, they all know how amazing that performance was.

exactly. Not able to hear yourself, you will only rely on your laryngeal muscle memory to get the notes right. WOW!

It's so raw. No effects at all. This is how you handle a tech difficulties not by doing unnecessary movements and talking to the crowd. Professionalism.

Just to add context to this performance and highlight Celine’s greatness: if you noticed, she removed her in ear monitor (most probably because it’s not working as she said “Still nothing” at 1:49). Hence, she’s not hearing her own voice and the piano clearly during the entire performance and has to rely more on muscle memory of her larynx and neck to sing the notes right.

Anyone who knows about singing live would agree with me that what Celine did here was amazing! She sang completely "dry" and still sounded amazing. Notice how she took out the "plugs" from her ears. That means she couldn't hear hear herself because they allow her to hear what comes out of the speakers. No feedback. I have so much respect for her especially after watching this performance> awesome... I'm touched.

For those who have worked on live TV show this would have been a nightmare. You can hear the mic bumps in the intro, then all the rest of the tech talkback, mic crashes, feed back and this was the Grammys, a lesson to us all that even on the biggest music show of the year it can go wrong for this is live TV. Congratulations Celine for being so professional what a beautiful song. Recently with a cast of thousands at the Special Olympics Opening NBN3 and GEM Channel Australia we were blessed over the three hours with not one of the above. Thank you Lord.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! 2014 this is my story... When I was younger I feel so tenable about myself with affection of my family. Maybe it’s because I was showered with such attention since I’m the youngest among the siblings. I really don’t mind when my friends and classmates at school asking me where my dad is. I just simply replied, “he’s in heaven, he died when I was a year and a half.” Persistently that’s always been my response. Oftentimes when I see their dads, I really don’t mind at all. I feel so fine with it, no anxieties nor jealousy that they have their dads with them. Who showed such love, care, affection and support. But lately things changed… I thought I was completely fine about it. I apprehended that there would always been a time that you’ll feel such desolation about yourself. A part of me that is missing, just like a puzzle. Questions hurling inside, “WHAT IF?”. Plenty of "What if's". How infuriating on my part that those questions will never be retorted nor I can’t find absolute answers about it. We can’t take back what is already gone. Right from there, you have no choice but to live with it. If daddy was alive surely it would change a thing… Or maybe I wouldn’t be a person that I am today. Maybe I was more mature, confident and secured about myself. There were periods that I wish he was with me. I just desired a father so badly! However it can never be altered. But that’s life. It’s a providence I opted to accept. I will never be complete however life doesn’t stop there. It basically goes on. I must say that you have no idea how blessed you are because your parents are with you. Learn to appreciate and value the significance of their existence. Since the sad reality about it is that we lack of indebtedness on the things they’ve thru. Let’s put in our hearts and soul that we can’t repay the sacrifices they’ve been done for us. When one of them is omitted, it is as if a half of your life is lost. May you have a meaningful Father’s Day!

To go on stage and sing that song, specifically related to her father’s death a few months prior, and have NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT THREE (!!!) tech malfunctions - it was a real embarrassment and it took her mind off the lyrics and her performance
