The parallels between Gon and Meruem even down to sitting in front of a hated "enemy" is sooooo good. Meruem saying he will only be influenced by words, while Gon doesn't want to hear any. Meruem relying on those around him, while Gon pushes them away. Meruem was even attacked and still held back (twice), while Pitou had to break her own arm in order to try to persuade him. God I love it.

We Humans do the EXACT SAME THING. It's inherently biologically driven, and the resulting morality is brought about by selfishness. The selfishness to want something you don't have, which is why the king doesn't want to kill Komugi, and is even "forgiving" Netero for the harm he brought to Komugi. He sees Netero as an individual, somebody who has achieved his own greatness, a king of his own domain. It's respect in it's purest form.

I hope you guys read this, it is a little insight as to how fast Netero is. It seems as though you guys might have missed the Explanation they gave. So, when Netero first interacted with Pitou and she attacked him, her attack from the moment she launched it was moving at a speed where it would have landed in 0.1 seconds. Right after she launched that attacked, Netero responded with his own attack. As soon as Netero started moving his hands, it seemed as though everything else was frozen. That's because it basically was. Netero's attacked, which started once he started to move his hands, was so fast, that an attack that was launched before his, with a 0.1 second window before it hit, was slowed to a halt. The rest I will explain once you get far enough without spoilers.

Yupi's aura was at 700k+ at the start of the invasion. He used a lot of it during the battle, with the manga stating he had a little less than 500k left the moment potclean marked 60610 of dept. After that, even if he started using as little aura as possible, it would take at most 3 minutes and 50 seconds to go burst. Knuckle stopped the ability when it was a little more than twenty seconds away from taking effect. He was stupid by not stalling by saying something like "All right, all right. I'll remove it but please promise you won't hurt him. I only need to touch it to make it go away, so let me get closer. No tricks, I swear." Obviously, dragging his speech as much as possible and walking slowly towards Yupi.

So, I never did this, but I went and calculated Youpi's total aura from the amount APR displayed and the time limit the narrator gave us. Our heroes needed 23 ticks of APR, 3 minutes and fifty seconds, starting from a debt of 60.610. Youpi's aura is 542.720. When Youpi was chasing down the last puppets, 130 seconds had passed, since APR was at 209.242. When Knuckle canceled APR the debt showed 370.684, which means 190 seconds had passed and only 40 were left. If Knuckle had remained hidden or had used Meleoron's Perfect Plan, Youpi would have gone bust without a doubt (I'm not saying it was necessarily a mistake on his part).

This battle is imo the best battle in all of manga anime. It was so engaging because it involved the human race and exposed us. The pinnacle of humanity vs a superior, "evil", "monsterous", species who we once viewed to be nothing more than an insect. A mostly tiny, harmless creature which we can squish at any instance. But the chimera ant arc changed it all. Netero entered knowing he will die but also kill meruem with a nuke. It excited netero for various reasons. Mostly because he's bored,excited, and most likely a psychopath like 99% of every character "good" and "bad". Netero, the pinnacle of humanity, used human malice to trick meruem into this battle in order to win the war. He basically entered this battle for his own selfish reasons but to also save the human race. I'd argue that mostly for his own selfish reasons but that's part of being a human. Especially in hunter x hunter in which every human is selfish as fuck. Meruem on the other hand didn't want to fight. He also exposed human hypocrisy and proved it by explaining in detail why. For example, he explained that the slaughtering and eating of inferior animals is nothing different than what humans have been doing since our existence. Which is true with the exception that we deem those animals not to be sentient. But we can't really prove that. He exposed the corruption, dictatorship, and human on human crime etc. He even acknowledge that he won't mix chimera with humans anymore because of our very fucked up traits. Ultimately, isaac netero empowered me and meruem humbled me. Isaac empowered me because fuck yeah humans are survivors and we proved it. But meruem humbled (especially rose meruem) because he exposed our flaws and in the end proved that we were the real monsters all along. SPOILERS BELOW Edit: gon vs pitou amplifies this. And yes, I have ADD.

Definitely not best in anime, not even best in the show, that would be Kurapika vs Uvogin. Meruem's sudden shift in ideals to create a "better world" was stupid, unnecessary and didn't make sense. It seems as if it was done just to add more flare to what they were fighting for. The fight ends with a stupid nuke like I'm so confused as to why didn't they bomb that hideout ( ant nest) where the ants were being born. Doing this would've prevented it all from happening anyway. The fight itself was actually very entertaining though , the only fight that the narrator wasn't annoying in but it still wasn't that amazing. I can name 5 fights from just Naruto that are better.
