I really like how they explain that this bomb is cheap and mass produced, it really drives home the point that humans created weapons so destructive and powerful just to kill each other that even a single cheap bomb was able to destroy the collective pinnacle of the Chimera Ant species, Meruem. I can never get sick of this fight especially the ending. The nuke at the end is incredible. Like one of the reactors say, it’s the IMPLOSION they animated before the nuclear explosion that just adds so much more weight to this screen. You can like feel the destructiveness of this nuke and I feel like the initial implosion really helps sell it’s ridiculous power, which isn’t even one of the strongest bombs that humans have created. Really drives home the line “don’t underestimate the human race and it’s infinite potential for evolution.” I honestly felt pride as a human when the line said as silly as that sounds lol

I was really sad and distraught about Netero losing until Meruem said "I see now, you had me at checkmate from the start.". This gave me a whole new perspective om how epic Netero actually was, he way waaaay ahead of everyone. Meruem never had a chance from the moment he stepped in fight. Either Netero would have beat him, he would die in the explosion and even if he survived the fight and the explosion he would die from the poison. In the end he used one of the worst/evil thing humans had ever invented.. It was something Meruem couldn't even start to fathom... human technology.

What's so cool about the relation between Netero, Meruem and Komugi is that realistically, Meruem would have lost to Netero eventually without mentally training with Komugi. Yet this would also be a more monstrous Meruem, the Meruem who killed a child just for screaming. Meruem becoming more human technically won him the match, which perfectly encapsulates the theme of this arc. The ants grew powerful, but also less powerful in the fact that they developed emotions, while the humans grew powerful, in the exchange of morality such as Gon threatening to kill Komugi and Netero using the Poor Man's Rose.

I don't think the choice to ignore the word "akui" (malice) used in the manga as a first choice was done without Togashi's approval but idk for sure ...but still the writers for the anime did that choice with or without Togashi's approval, so the translation/translator has nothing to do with it Togashi put the 2 words in the manga (1. "akui" : 'evil intent, malice' and 2. "shinka" : 'evolution') to give a wider meaning to Netero's idea but obviously you can't say the 2 words in a spoken dialogue so they had to choose one for the anime... I'm actually curious why they chose the 2nd word instead of the 1st one, but it kinda make sense "malice" is very straightforward = humans are evil beyond anything Meruem could imagine, but the use of "evolution" in that context matches Meruem's line about being the pinnacle of his species' evolution... humans evolve too but in a different manner, not through their DNA like the CA but by putting their minds together to achieve smth big... like nukes... One person alone can't achieve that result (in HxH world Netero is peak of individual strength
