The plot armor is real within that one. It was so strong it not only defended her, but her friend and the only person on the plane that could revive her friend😂

The movie should have been called La Lesbia and not La Palma. This movie was such a reach, really surviving a tsunami that caused THAT much destruction but then two lovers made it? So unrealistic and huge reach.

By episode 3, I was fast forwarding through some scenes that were doing my head in. I wish Netflix had a double thumbs down option at the end. Definitely would’ve hit it for this series.
@johnmike-w2u10 күн бұрын
Could have been good. The ridiculousness of the main characters surviving scenarios that are monumentally impossible turned the film into a comedy in the end. A 300 foot wave smashes into a plane killing everyone instantly but the main character and her love interest are the only ones that survived. Oh sorry, the ONLY other survivor was the flight attendant who was the only one that could have performed CPR to revive one of the girls. I don’t even comment on movies but this one compelled me to warn people how ridiculous it is. I would have given this a 4 if it wasn’t so over the top.
@gtccold9 күн бұрын
Is good. Stop hating. First off, CPR was done by other survival so no. Not only main characters survived but many people eon the plane. One of the main characters died, the scientist's brother so no. Not all survived. For me it's very good plot line. Other wise this would've bombed. I don't know what series you were watching. I am sorry but I am giving this 10/10. And if you're going to call this shit then look at other marvel movies. They have more survival rates/resurrections than this and still good review. Don't hate because they focus on main characters that 'supposed to survived' to tell the story. That's plot armour man. It's just the way it is. Only 100+ people survives because they reached the safe spot. There were millions on those islands... Millions died. You want the series that's only 4 episodes to cover all the millions death to make you happy? Come on man. This was a masterpiece for me. Maybe they should've changed the title to We survived La Palma to make you happy. It's fiction!!! And it was well written. Stop hating.
@Aetherius888 күн бұрын
@@gtccold It would have been better to have Sara and Charlie miss the flight with the mom and brother and then drive to the "safe spot". Having her survive the wave impact while trapped in the plane is beyond ridiculous. The force of the impact would have been so tremendous that the entire plane would be disintegrated into nothing. Charlie had to be revived from drowning. Look, drowning wouldn't have been the problem. The problem would have been her body being exploded into a million pieces and catapulted across the island. It was an unnecessary and avoidable plot hole that could have simply been fixed by having them miss the flight along with the mom and brother. Terrible writing.
@-o-itscharli7 күн бұрын
@@gtccold You cannot say that the ending wasn't ridiculous. The impact of a wave that big would have completely flattened everything and that plane would have gotten obliterated into pieces. The show was amazing to watch, but the end almost completely ruined it. My boyfriend and I were laughing at it. It can be fiction, but then it would make more sense for them to have a magical force field around the plane. This was just a poorly written happy ending.
@gtccold6 күн бұрын
@@-o-itscharli Thank you for all the feedback, it seems to me everyone likes the show except for the airplane scene. I am not a scientist but people do survive extreme disaster. I think the writer wanted to include that scene and show survivors out of the wreckage. I can go on and say that airplane have similar Buoyancy as cargo boats and thus it will float but then you'll say that it'll get crush to million pieces before that. Am not going to go there. It was writer's choice that there are survivors on that plane and I guess I am okay with it lol. Regardless, like you said it was good till the end because of one plot line. That's good enough for me. I liked it personally cause the family survived, and that makes me happy inside for some reason. Again, thanks for the feed back guys.

Whereas in the first two episodes it is still somewhat close to science, it fully drifts away in the last two parts. Some main characters surving a scyscaper tall tsunami wave hitting an airplane, two giant tsunami waves anihilating themselves in the sea, and a couple of hundred meters further way the ocean stays absolutely calm, a still working mobile phone network - this is all so ridiculous. In real life all main characters would have died several times. Interactions between main characters were all so melodramatic, and synchronization from Norwegian to English was horrible. All in all, not worth viewing it.

It's the worst series I've seen since the existence of TV, no I am not exaggerating. - Characters suck - Character Development sucks - None of the decisions made by any of the characters In this series is remotely sane, I can only describe it as insane and out of this world. - They Don't respect the Audience's intellect: - Apparently, you can survive a plane crash into a MOUNTAIN - You can also survive a Plane getting hit by a TSUNAMI - Your speed boat is faster than a TSUNAMI

Where should i start. Director doesn’t want anyone to die from the main cast and brings back them from impossible and side role was killed just for nothing. Poor direction could've been nicely done but no director fxxked it up. Nice vfx but hey even AI can generate such shots nowadays. I just don’t get how can Netflix allow such poor directed series on their platform. Apart from 1-2 scenes rest is all poorly scripted.

I thought this was a different short series just the right length unlike so many other shows. I usually have a short attention span and if a show doesn' t grab me in 20 min I give up. Set in a beautiful place. Maybe it was a good time to release it in winter when many of us are inside. I also am constantly looking for new apocalyptic or dystopian shows. The only thing is, if you don' t want to see the tsunami wave, avoid it or at least wait until you return from your tropical winter holiday.

Laughably bad!!! Completely unbelievable scenes as in they stretch believability to breaking point rather than being good. Only worth watching if you are a connoisseur of bad films - I laughed out loud a few times at scenes which were probably meant to bring about the opposite reaction!! But a film that has someone’s dying words as “The Turtles - they knew” deserves at least one star 🤣🤣🤣

I really wish I could take my one star from this review. This is the worst series I have ever scene on Netflix. Please do not even think about making a series two like series. You have cancelled way better shows than this crap. I tuned in to this series because my wife loves natural disaster movies/series. The writing was horrible nothing made sense in this movie. - passengers survive a plane in a mountain - passengers survive being hit by a tsunami in a plane on LAND and not even moving. - the plane broke a little bit but guess what pretty much everyone remained alive

A disaster film that forgets the fundamental rules of both logic and storytelling. Can’t believe the frustratingly forced writing, undermining the very genre it’s trying to represent. From the absurdity of characters surviving unscathed after an unbelievable disaster to the baffling decision to keep certain characters alive purely for shock value, everything about this show feels artificial and poorly constructed. The plane scene alone is a laughable mess, where Sara wakes up after a catastrophic event without a scratch, and the plane itself-despite the immense forces acting on it-remains miraculously intact. Add to that the tsunami that somehow leaves Tenerife untouched, and you have a series that’s completely detached from reality. When the Tenerife coastline is somehow left standing after a giant wave, you have to wonder if the writers even understand how tsunamis work. The characters’ decisions are nonsensical, from abandoning a safe plane to climbing up an active volcano, only to face no real consequences. Charlie’s survival and her pointless arc serve no purpose other than to elongate the pain, and the random addition of a new character only detracts from an already tired plot. What could have been a compelling disaster film turned into a ludicrous collection of bad decisions, plot holes, and lazy writing. If you’re a fan of disaster films, La Palma will only make you long for the logical chaos of classics. This series doesn’t respect the genre or its audience-it’s an insult to both. The idea is good but not executed well.

Really enjoying this. Approached it with low expectations because even though I love disaster movies, they are usually ridiculously bad. The characters seem to respond to unfolding events in a believable way. Some of the events themselves have felt a bit implausible and/or rushed and the cast is too small (a good cast just not enough of them) with too many coincidences and occurrences happening to too few people. This is a minor quibble that I can wiggle away with my fingers. Overall entertaining, well-paced (unrealistic but in a good way that skips boring sequences) and convincingly cast. The English dubbing is excellent. Splitting the story over a 4 episode limited series works better than having it in one long movie. Haven't watched the ending yet so it may all go downhill but the setup has been much better than I expected going into this.

En resumen, una serie noruega en la que noruegos viviendo en España son los únicos que anticipan la erupción, mientras los españoles son los obtusos mentales que se niegan a creerlo. Otra piedra en la mochila del leyendanegrismo nórdico sobre España. ¡¡¡Vomitivo!!!

First, if a certain part of the island only gets a landslide why would they risk travelling into Tenerife if they can just simply move through another side as you can see in the movie where the part of the island started to move can see how it does not affect the other side. It went downhill on the tsunami scene, like, bro. And also How the hell can you survive that mega wave if your aeroplane gets caught in it is it just to tell us that love is stronger than a mega tsunami? LMAO.In the scene where Fredrick and the girl go to the safe spot, the wave is still huge, but the wave where they are standing seems calm. What you have still been caught with that huge wave and it is still risky as it's like a basin

Utter garbage with acting so poor it made my granddaughters nativity play seem worthy of an Oscar. The characters seemed so unconvincing and no chemistry between them. Sara, or Alma Günther, is a terrible actress. For instance, during the scene on the boat when the volcano began to erupt, her facial expression looked as if she were merely amazed or bored. The show overall is a total disaster. Take the airplane scene, for example, where Sara and her girlfriend somehow survived a gigantic tsunami-it was utterly unrealistic. On the other hand, the actors playing the father and mother delivered solid performances. I rate this film a 4/10 and gave it a double thumbs down on Netflix. The only redeeming qualities were the efforts of the visual artists and VFX team, as well as the performances of all the actors-except for Alma Günther, or Sara. As for the script? Meh, it was terrible.

A Realistic Take on Disaster, with a Bit of Hollywood Magic This show offers a refreshing take on the natural disaster genre. Unlike many films that rely on implausible survival scenarios, this series doesn’t shy away from the harsh reality of such events, including the tragic loss of key characters. While I appreciated the realistic approach, I couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed by the somewhat contrived survival of certain characters, particularly the daughter and her girlfriend. It seemed as though the writers were determined to deliver a happy ending, even if it meant stretching credibility. Despite this minor quibble, the show excels in many areas. The strong cast delivers compelling performances, and the gradual buildup of tension is well-paced. The generous screen time allows for the development of each character, creating a believable and relatable family dynamic. The inclusion of the uncle's foreign affairs perspective adds an interesting layer to the narrative. Overall, this is a well-crafted and emotionally resonant series that offers a more grounded approach to disaster storytelling, albeit with a touch of Hollywood optimism.

Even though it wasn't realistic I really enjoyed the show. I loved the characters and the overall message of the show being that we do need to start listening to nature and scientists more. I think it's okay for natural disaster movies to be over exaggerated so that it's entertaining. Realistic natural disasters are just as painful but most wouldnt have happy endings. With an ending where people do survive, it gives people hope and motivation to take action. Also the story is obviously going to follow people that make it to the end otherwise it'd be over in 15 mins and there wouldn't be a show. Nearly all main characters have plot armor in most cinema, if you want something hyper realistic then go out and live life/watch the news. This is for entertainment.
