Good actors. good production value but the plot is horrible and completely unbelievable. A black man gets chased and shot at after witnessing a murder but quickly devolved into a poorly written story. The main actor is great but wasted on having him play dumb the entire time. For some reason the cops barely look over a crime scene and deduce this well-dressed and educated black man is either guilty or making up a story, ignoring any and all police procedure or protocols for the token racism plot. And the main character omits showing the police the tracker he found or information to further this ridiculous plot for some odd reason. Talented cast wasted on a stupid plotline.

I disagree. The title says it all...the madness. Everything that occurs, while it may be a bit extreme, is based on the treatment of minorities in America. Especially some parts that are still predominantly white. The show dealt with a lot of topics other than racism...also generational trauma, the ideas of being a man that stands on business, and how politics aren't based on votes but rather money, power and influence. You broke this show down as if it was just surface level racism. There are layers to this.

Very shallow, hollow storyline, no depth to the main character except maybe a poster for a 'stroke' or constipation, as he continously has a fractured facial expression right throughout every scene! The actor who played his wife was phenomenal!

This show could have been good. Regardless of a person‘s color, if They go to the police and tell them that they saw a dismembered body and had to survive a night in the woods after being chased by the killers, and the police were to go to the man’s cabin that he was renting And could clearly see that his tires were slashed they would take the situation seriously. But because the main character is a black man, obviously they went with the racist cop route. Completely unrealistic. This would never happen in today’s world. Quite the ridiculous storyline actually. Highly disappointing Netflix. This could have been a good show. Enough with all the propaganda. The guy worked for CNN for God sake. He could afford a cabin in the Poconos. Just so ridiculously unrealistic.

I don't really understand the line about the guy being able to afford a cabin in the Poconos. What? What was unrealistic there? Regarding the cops in the Poconos: they were skeptical of the guy's story. They really were not shown to be overtly racist. Not sure what your beef is on that front.

Just finished. It was an interesting series. A bit overwrought at times, I think, .. but overall a good watch. I think it could have told its story in six episodes instead of eight. It seemed to dog on at times, especially down the stretch. I thought the final episode, though not awful, was the weakest of the bunch. Trying to avoid spoilers: I would have liked the ending better if they had just left out what Bobby did in that last episode. I get that it led to some visceral satisfaction, but I think the story would have resonated better at the end without that. Overall ... I'm glad I watched it. Pretty good series.

Colman Domingo is sexy and a fantastic actor. If there was a reboot of the movie, An Officer and a Gentleman he would be great in the role of the late great Lou Gossett's character

The series dragged on towards the end, and at times I couldn’t understand the protagonist’s actions anymore. Spoiler Alert! Especially after he was acquitted, I couldn’t grasp his motivation for continuing to go against the leadership and and putting a new target on his back. On top of that, his child annoyed me more and more over time because he was so irrational and just a moody, bratty kid. I kept thinking, “Why does he listen to his son so much?

Best TV show I’ve watched on Netflix in 2024 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💯 it was everything a thriller series. Amazing plot twists, suspense, shocking discoveries, fantastic screenplay. If you’re contemplating about watching this, please just watch it. The show does come across as slightly left wing but it makes up for it by showing the cons of both extremities. I related a lot to this show, not just as a mixed raced man. So I understand how some white people might not enjoy this show but trust me the show is so good you’ll forget about all the contextual political nuances surrounding it. Anyway black, white, Latino, Asian, man or woman it’s for everyone to watch and enjoy. I’m a busy man with business but This show was so bingeable I too a day off and finished it in 1 day too bad it’s a limited series so there won’t be a season 2 😭 Colman Domingo was an excellent actor in this series he executed the show and did justice to the character with pure finesse. He really made you connect with Muncie Daniels. I hope Colman wins another Emmy for this show because he definitely deserves it. 🙏🏽🎉

I agree that there were diminishing returns as it moved on. I think a tighter narrative -- maybe six instead of eight episodes -- would have served it better. But, overall, I liked it. It was entertaining, occasionally thought-provoking. Would probably recommend it to most people.

On episode 1. Apart from the “cancerous tumour ….” Long sentence doesn’t ring true. No one would say all that a second after seeing the reason for reaction on paper. I don’t know why writers 1st then directors don’t see how bad it is in rehearsal and it’s delivery (take a breath) is then edit it out or reshoot. Not a big deal? I’m still thinking about the sentence and not the film. Another absurdity. The main character’s attorney tells him to go to The Ritz hotel all expenses paid. He’s being chased and then followed. Without going that far why would he opt for bringing his family to a motel (bedroom doors open to parking lot) knowing that someone is chasing him and has just threatened his family? Is it laziness on behalf of production ? Cost issues? Between a 5 ***** and the ‘Days Inn’ there are options. So yet again…doesn’t seem likely. 7 more episodes to go but I may not follow through. There’s always the 10 and 20 minute rule. Within the 1st 10 minutes you should know what the movie is about and after 20 minutes, if you’re going to like it or not. Tony Merrit teacher at a film production class told us about it years ago. Try it.. it holds up. For the moment, better than some of the mono/diologue and choices made. Colman Domingo is good here and I wonder if he too thought that phrase too long not thought out and totally out of place and screams of SCRIPT! Someone had a real crush on it though. Should had left it on the floor. Well see. That said now I’m looking st the way the film was made when I could have been engrossed.
