@Rehaan Aamir I agree but we as a society need to stop teaching boys and girls (in my opinion girls) to focus on dating and more on loving yourself because there are people who never had a bf or gf and they are happy in life. @paarthdesai42695 жыл бұрын
@ I agree with you in that. I do agree that we need to focus on our dreams as the priority because the likelihood one will find their love in hs or college is slim but it is true we must learn to socialize with each other and with the opposite gender and at least be somewhat informed about socialization. I know people that graduated college and don't know how to socialize at all and that is sad. Not talking about boyfriend or girlfriend but everyone should at least learn to be somewhat social. Idk if you can say the kids mispronounce their own names. It’s their names, their accents, they can pronounce it anyway they want, and we just need to respect that. IKR we need to respect their pronounciation
@DB-me7ol2 жыл бұрын
Their names have meanings in native Indian languages which are absolutely murdered + lost in the process. Indian languages are very phonetic and changing just one sound can change the meaning of the whole word. I think that it is important that people pronounce their names right because doing so otherwise will inevitably strip them off their meanings. (plus, if one practices enough and asks a native speaker which I am assuming they must know at least 1 one can easily learn to pronounce them. Obv it is hard to learn an entire language never having lived in its place of origin but it is certainly possible to learn how to pronounce your own name!) Plus they started the convo with how would a white person pronounce their name vs how it is actually pronounced. and they failed to pronounce it the actual way. it was WAYYYYYY too Americanized

"if your parents had no expectations for a day, what would you do?" girl on the lower right: *do drugs*
@BothHands15 жыл бұрын
this post i made a few minutes ago is kinda related, so i'll post it here: they're so adorable! also, that kid's totally right --- my parents were super strict and it led me to actually do a lot of drugs and smoke cigarettes and kinda ruin my life, cuse i was really spiteful eventually --- that all my friends had more freedom than me, and so i rebelled extra hard. fell in with bad people and moved on to much harder stuff, through more serious methods of ingestion. i guess there was also the fact that i'm gay, and my parents came from a baptist church, so that caused a lot of conflict, especially when they forced me to go. one easter they made me go and instead of talking about easter, the guy talked about how being gay was just as bad as murder. so that sparked a huge fight where i threw a metal chair through a full length mirror and got wrestled to the floor by my dad, after he took the door handle off to get into my locked room. was a disaster lol but yeah, if you teach your kids good values, and you make them feel comfortable asking you about things, it really makes them trust you. like those parents who say "i really don't think you should drink, your childhood might seem like an eternity, but it's actually such a short part of your life. but if you do drink, i want you to call me so i can pick you up, and make sure you're safe. i won't be mad, and we can figure things out along the way, etc etc" . also, don't worry, after that fight, my parents realized how serious i was about it, and never made me go to church again, and even stopped going themselves. after getting out from under religion, they're completely different, accepting and understanding parents. my dad took longer to come around, but he's chill now. things tend to work out in the end, i guess lol you just gotta self advocate, and play their game, and reason with them, and if you're really truly thoroughly passionate about something, they'll eventually learn they can't stop you and give up lol oh yeah, and you're not missing anything if you don't eat meat. i grew up for 10 years in south africa, where everyone is obsessed with meat. but around age 14, i decided I didn't like that animals were hurt for it, so i stopped. 16 years later, i still haven't touched the stuff - even when we grill my veggie burgers, i do it on foil so it doesn't touch the same surface that was used to cook meat. the smell is horrific to me now, and makes me gag. it's super gross, killing an animal and eating its corpse. ew. and indians have been experimenting with vegetarian food for more than a thousand years, so you guys make the best stuff. my absolute favorite is saag paneer, extra spicy with rice, garlic naan and kashmiri naan, and a raita and mango lassi. usually lasts me a few days lol. i've tried to make it myself, but it's hard to get all the spices in other countries, so the veg only indian place by my house is my favorite. and since they don't serve meat at all, i know there's no cross-contamination, and it also feels good to be supporting a purely veg restaurant 💕💕💕 ((sorry for writing so much, it's 6am and i haven't been able to sleep since like 3am, so i may be a bit delirious lol))
