I think Hasan has been really lucky at being in the right place at the right time. He got pulled into the Daily Show by Stewart (think he was one of Stewart's last hires iirc?) and then got out before things went too far south, signing the deal with Netflix where he basically can do whatever he wants. As much as I love Colbert, and Myers, and Kimmel, they are all older, and constrained by network content rules that Hasan simply doesn't have to follow. Hasan and John Oliver are really the only two late-night news comedy shows that aren't constrained by network demands, really. Their only mandate is to be good, funny, and topical, and they work it.
@hasanzuhaib84085 жыл бұрын
@@layne721 couldn't agree with you more John Oliver and Hasan Minhaj are my favourites
@dhruvs81395 жыл бұрын
@@layne721 I've kinda noticed that Hasan has loosely structured his show based on the John Oliver mold. You know, important and pressing issues mixed with intermittent comedy and swearing. And I give him complete credit for vibing with that style, because it's really REALLY good. Hasan and Oliver are my favorites, but I think Hasan edges John out a bit.
