Incidentally, at 2:12 when Bianca and her teammate grin upon seeing the merman push the Pit And The Pendulum crew into the buoy, I find myself thinking of Slytherin from another fantasy world. That’s not entirely fair - Enid previously advised us that there are no rules at the Poe Cup, so there can’t really be any cheating, especially since the principal just announced that part of the object of the game is to sink the other boats. So goodness knows why someone from the Amontillado boat called the Black Cats “cheaters” when Enid scratched out their bottom and sank them. What did he expect? (That’s what I get for expecting perfect logic from a work of fantasy fiction, I guess. Besides, Ajax later tells Enid that he admired her for scratching out the bottom of their boat. Called it “badass”.)
