I saw this in 1986 with my wife and best friend! This movie was a breath of fresh air and this sequence, deep in the film was simply beautiful! I was a huge Spike Lee fan, having seen this first feature of his, and I think this sequence has been unequaled in his films ever since.

A wonderful scene. With the heel clicking and sudden color it’s a bit of a tribute to Wizard of Oz. Due to Spike’s budget restrictions, many scenes in the film had to be shot with just one take. If that was the case here, the first take was perfect. The video quality is top notch!

It doesn’t even look that old like it does but I just love how they filmed old films. Now films are just too colorful and bland
