Most people are in their own bubble when they "see" someone who needs help. They will think someone else will fix it and they have other things to do with their day. There are a lot of experiments about these kind of situations. I saw one a couple years ago, someone was (acting) out cold in the middle of the street. And people just kept walking past. And there used to be a program something along the lines of "what would you do" where actors would go in public spaces and act out something suspicious and they would wait to see if one of the people around them would comment on it/help the situation and afterwards the host would come and talk to those people about why they acted or didnt act a certain way

A subtle but detail is that Aimee starts wearing less tight clothes and she wears her hair with less volume. Even in the “stop fighting over a stupid boy” scene she is wearing a turtleneck, baggy jeans and a low ponytail . It’s a hint that maybe she feels guilty about what she wears even though that horrible event WASNT HER FAULT AND THE DUDE IS A WANKING PSYCHO. But sometimes girls get comments or even you start thinking maybe it was my fault, which is never the case! This show is truly brilliant and small details like this are amazing
@tymondabrowski122 жыл бұрын
She might not be quilty but just self-conscious and not comfortable in fitting clothes anymore, if she imagines that every person around is ogling her in a objectifying way. Like "feeling naked" even though you're fully clothed, in front of an audience or in a big group of people you don't know.

Maeve brushed Aimee's decision aside and coerced her to go. You need to know the other person well to do that, and you need to be aware that it can backfire on both, and if it does it is your responsibility. Maeve was brave, and being a very good friend, to put her friend's needs over her own, and her own judgement over hers. (Note: I'm using "friend" because I'm not familiar with the show.)

I really love how they really focused on the assault story and didn't just pass it off as a throwaway gag for a cheap laugh. So many situations like that have been hammed up for comedy in mainstream media over the years and people have been influenced to find it "funny". It's so refreshing to see the script being flipped. The show really is living up to its name by educating people that sexual assault doesn't just mean rape. It really sheds light on experiences like Aimee's and how they aren'tsomething to laugh at. They're serious issues and they have a real psychological impact on the victim. I wish every person who went through trauma had a friend like Maeve. Nobody deserves to suffer through an experience like that alone.

Especially the friendship between Aimee and Maeve has been wonderful to see and you can really tell the two actresses have amazing chemistry by the way they ad-libbed that last scene. Their friendship reminds me so much of effy and panda’s from skins. Only maeve cares more about aimee than effy cared for panda

I'm glad they gave Aimee a storyline in 2 and 3 season. She's an interesting character and a really entertaining one.

i love that they showed that at first she didnt see it as a big thing until people that cared about her showed her that its a big deal. idk, when ur that age, its seen as the worst thing to over-react on shit, so it was so powerful for me to see that she slowly understood, became scared, and then with her friends became angry then become brave idk that shits real

my favourite friendships in sex ed by order: 1. aimee and maeve 2. otis and eric 3. adam and ola (it should've been explored more in S3)

I was watching season 2 again and Adam was so touched when Ola called him a friend. I totally get that as I am a bit of a loner like Adam and when a co-worker befriended me, it meant a lot.

I’m still waiting on the Ola and Adam friendship goals, even if is only a one minute video, I loved how they became friends✨

I liked Maeve more and more as the series went on. At the start I was like "oh god, here's the manic pixie dream girl love interest". But I think part of the problem was that that's exactly the way Otis sees her, and he and all the other men in the series fail to realise that she has her own interests, goals and struggles and isn't just a romantic object to be won by them. Otis and Isaac are busy fighting over her attention while Maeve is worrying about her mum and sister, neither of them actually put her needs first, it's all about themselves and their desire to win her. But Maeve and Aimee always know what the other needs, and that's why their relationship is one of the most important in the series. They put each other first, it's never about winning or losing, only about caring for each other. Female solidarity!

I'm like really happy that there's a girl with an overbite on TV. I have one and I'm so self conscious about it. But seeing her gives me confidence

I love their friendship! It's so wholesome and refreshing. I love how Aimee attended every one of Maeve's quiz rounds and Maeve and the girls helped Aimee get on the bus.

I think Aimee was really used by the popular party kids for her big house and family money... Seeing her with people who really care about her is beautiful, finally finding out what she wants and getting support

this scene "it's just a stupid bus" is definitely the second best scene by far in this series. first obviously being the one "you waited"

Season 1 Amy : smokes, talks and shares with Maeve secretly in the abandoned bathroom. Season 2 Amy : dumps her toxic friends, biggest Otis x Maeve shipper, cheers Maeve during her tournaments. The best character development ever.
