When I was watching (I hadn’t read who was casted I just clicked on it) and it took me a minute, when I realized that Alberta was Glenn Close… I literally had to PAUSE and run to my husband and played the scene where she says, “then do it, betch.” Oh my goodnessss!!! I said YESSSSS this is what I didn’t know I NEEDED to see from Glenn!!!! I’m 36, I’ve watched most things she’s in- I must say I’ve never been so excited when it clicks who I’m watching on screen! LOVED this casting so much!

Watched it because I saw that Glenn Close was in the cast. A very interesting character and the hair and make up really help bring that character to life - but ofcourse she is the great Glenn Close and I have always regretted missing an opportunity to see her perform live back when she was in Sunset Boulevard. Give the lady her Oscar!

This movie was so much better than I expected. Andra Day and Glenn Close worked so well together that you would really have thought they were mother and daughter. Mo' Nique and Aunjunue Ellis-Taylor were also great in smaller but important roles. The actors who played the children blew me away how good they were. Yes, it is sort of like Poltergeist mixed with The Exorcist , yet its an original all its own.

“The World According to Garp” was her first movie and Oscar nomination. Portraying Nurse Jenny, the mother of Robin Williams. John Lithgow also played a trans-woman and also received an Oscar nomination. The movie was ahead of its time. I was familiar with Glenn Close from Broadway, so I knew she was great

I loved the movie and actually during the first hour I hoped that it won't be a horror but that we will learn more about the story and the characters. Think it could easily be a tv series 😃 Now watching these woman being themselves and talking, I appreciate even more how amazing their acting was.

Andra Day was absolutely fantastic she absolutely nailed her character and Ms Glen Close with much respect at first I didn't think she would pull it off but i was so wrong in fact i had to stop the movie and check to see how old Ms Close because damn it she looked hot and played the hell out of that role ...did i say she looked hot🔥 . Shout out to the whole cast...so often actors and actresses get type cast into playing the same type roles but when they take a leap of faith and do a role thats so different from the normal and nail the role...just absolutely fantastic work

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie; however, I found the story of the mother/daughter relationship more interesting than that of the actual possession. Seeing Andra and Glenn's characters come down the steps with that baseball bat after Monique's character had me rolling. I wanted to see more of these 3 great actresses together. I hope this role garners more roles for Monique as she is truly an underutilized talent and deserves so much more.

It was really a good movie and I knew it was based on a true story. I've heard of it before and sure enough, the lady's story based on "The Deliverance" her face was shown at the end and I knew I had heard of a similar story to this movie. I definitely will watch it again with my Blessing Oil.

The great Glenn Close slayed this role. Everyone did a phenomenal job especially Mo'nique. Please give this woman more movie roles. She is a natural. Love the movie and thank you Lee Daniels for making this black paranormal experience into a movie for all to see. I am sure most people did not know about this story and what this family in Indiana went through. That area where the house stood is still haunted.
