Thanks for the very good istructions on setting up an internet extender. My situation was similar to yours with the Spectrum router at one end of my home and my exercise room and Roku at the other in the basement. I purchased a Pix-Link Repeater/Extender and set the device up as an extender as an Access Point. The Pix-Link is connected with an ethernet cable in the Lan port to my Spectrum router. When setting up the Pix-Link access point I added a password. Works great both the Roku and Bowflex treadmill connected each showing excellent signal strength. Exercised this morning no freezing of the Bowflex monitor and the Ruko was flawless.

I was confused how to factory reset, but you have to hold it for 10 seconds, but the light will flash and reset. Then you connect it to the new router or modem and then it worked for me. It is working great now. I had a hard time figuring this out and I thought I would share this. I moved and I barely used this at the other place but I definitely need it now. It works amazingly. My modem is in my living room and I have the extender in my hallway. I barely got signal before, but now I get full signal in my bedroom.

I can get through the initial set up of it and get it to fully set up, I just am unable to connect to the netgear genie after the fact. It says I’m not on my extender networks but I’m on the 5G network extender. How could I get around this?

I am trying to use WPS. My router supports WPS. I hit the WPS button on both devices. I see the new network names with EXT. I connect to EXT with the same password as for my router. Connection successful. However, NO INTERNET. My WPS button flashed when I hit the button, but did not go solid green like yours. I do not want to create an account to get this working. It was a gift. This boosts the signal for a 2.4 or 5 Ghz wifi network. So assuming your cable box uses your wifi to connect to the internet, this would work.

Ok. simpler way if for whatever reason pressing the buttons doesnt work right for you. Plug the extended in the same room and as close to the router as possible wait for the light ot turn green. Plug an ethernet line directly from the router to the extender. It should connect almost immediately. Double check on your phones wifi settings and you are golden

It is possible, although the speed will depend on where the Wifi source is. Since the extender has to grab the wifi signal then send it through the Ethernet port, if the wifi strength is unstable the Ethernet port will be as well. Let me know if that makes sense!

The set up is not that easy. Anyway i have a series of questions which you did not cover. You only registered it with you phone. Can you register it on the comp as well as on the TV? How come a USB internet signal receiver can receive single anywhere with no need to plug into an electrical socket like this Netgear extender? What is the range of this device in meters? Can it pick signal from outside your house and bring it into your living room or bedroom? Can you connect an ethernet cable plugged into this device and run it all the way into your TV or even comp? thank you

Yes, you can wire a device to the ethernet port and have a "wired" connection. In AP(Access Point) mode, you are required to have an Ethernet attached to your router.

@@HelpCloud One thing I wanted to share here is if you end up with, "Connection refused" in Chrome or FF, etc, I spent about 10 hours wasting my time when clearing the cache was the solution. But overall great video here.

I am 73 with lots of digital matters. Adding the wi-fi extender was one. Yes, he talks very fast. Being older and southern made it too fast even going through 3 times too fast.

if i bought this off someone and i got to the website page but it asks for email and passwod when i simply dont have a account what do i do?

You can factory reset it by using the reset button on the side. You will need something small like a pin. Plug it in, press the reset button for 30 seconds. Then you can set it up as if it were brand new.
