You kind of answered your own query at 06:05 - a switch is a layer 2 device, ip addresses and ports are layer 3 - hence why it couldnt do the more advanced firewalling. If it could, it would no longer be a switch, it would be a router.

what is the speedtest to the internet tho

I get around 500-600 Mbit/s down, but I'm using Cat5 cables for that run, will have to re-test once I switch over to Cat6. What about you?

@@headsoftech 100Mbit/s on Cat6, my internet plan sucks haha

100Mbit is all you need really, mine is faster to local servers but once you start going to international servers you won't get anything above 100Mbit
