I disagree slightly, I think it was low intensity. I think that was caused intentionally by the Dutch to prevent the French from playing fast football where they'd be far more dangerous. You see, the French team started to pick up and look dangerous, but I think Dutch team intentionally slowed the game and France didn't adapt enough to escape the trap
