I drove down highway 2 this June coming back from Colorado just because I saw this video. Such a beautiful country I live and love in.

It says the video is published 3 years ago in 2017, yet the footage looks to be from the 70s maybe? Or even earlier? I think an update may be needed...

It was filmed in the 70s. My cousins are in the film. Things are still very similar in Arthur County.

Good lord. Surely humans have evolved beyond the barbaric habit of burning/branding calves

They use ear tags more often now. Faster, easier, stylish like an ear ring.

It's still the least barbaric way of keeping track of animals and returning them in the event of fence break/natural disaster.

Typo: Your title should be "Four Seasons in the Sandhills". The apostrophe is unnecessary as this is a plural, not a contraction or a possessive. (Also, the video itself doesn't have the apostrophe.) Credit: Your post should credit the filmmaker(s) by name in the details.

The typo has been fixed. The filmmakers are listed in the end credits if you would like to know who worked on the this documentary.

Thank you for fixing the typo. I saw that they were in the end credits, but it's usual to post at least the director/cinematographer in the details on the post when posting someone's work. Just like you would if you were doing a catalog or listing.
