A common way I often see in videos on server racks is to have patch panels above and below a switch. Patch cables from the patch panel above go into the top row of ports of the switch and patch cables from the patch panel below go into the bottom row of ports on the switch

Use Velcro! I understand wire ties are cheap but if you are building a rack, it is industry practice to use Velcro because your track constantly changes over time, lace your wires, use Shielded cat6 if using POE (Power over ethernet), only reason to use zip ties, especially white ones, is if you have a Plenum Rated ceiling. Meaning for (Fire Rated). Also, on your drop to the rack, use a stock. It's a black webbing material that works like a Chinese finger trap and looks amazing coming into the rack. Hope this helps

@@JD2Q2Q Well there are wire ties that you can reuse. But Velcro is still better because wire ties can actually damage your cables if you over-tighten them

maybe budget constraint and could not get enough or proper patch panels, maybe those jacks were just lying around, maybe different owner different requirements, it is what it is. We all wanna do things the proper way, use patch panels for all etc but things like this happen in real world all the time. Maybe they din't have knowledge, they could terminate BNC on patch panels too, since they mentioned directly plugging AV links (which was unnecessary). I can't defend them on the mounting though lol. There are so many things wrong with this, I have no idea where to begin… but let’s start with: The weight of the loaded rack being only being supported by the flimsy hinges, The lack of patch panels and direct connect being used, No cable grooming, Being installed above an inwardly opening doorway, Power distribution units and power management?, Fire stopping??, Heat rises, the lack of effective cooking, Installers were barefoot!! If this was my construction site the entire installation would have been defected and the installers kicked off site. I’m a 20+ year telecommunications and data centre specialist and site manager, I know what I’m talking about, and this is a shocking design and install.

you forgot STP keystones and STP RJ45 jacks on UTP cabling lol. Maybe they could have yk, purchased normal jacks and saved money and could have gotten a proper patch panel. But those jacks might have just being lying around. They mentioned connecting some directly cuz of AV cable or POE but, I think you can terminate even BNC or POE on patch panel so they doesnt make sense. Can't defend them on the installation though, that's honestly the most worrisome thing here. They could probably just be on a budget or different stuff owned by diff groups or idk, it is what it is.

Why are you using shielded connectors, when your cable is not shielded?

Cat6A cables terminated with an shielded RJ45 with no shielding wire on the 45 head and plugged in directly into a switch?????????? That's a first. Usually it goes patchpanel then cat6a patchcord(shielded or shielded that's your preference) to switch or router.... but directly to switch that's a big ooooofffff to me. then again what do i know?

😮😮😮 XD que falta de ética profesional, yo soy profesional en TI y nunca realizó instalación de red y cableado así xd😮😮 es muy mala imagen, un desorden para ubicar los equipos de red en el Rack No, así no se debe hacer.
