Good overview of diffusion and contagion. But the threshold model should not be mixed up with competing events, the threshold models also works on its own.

What matters most in diffusion and contagion with in a network is up ts feedbacks. With out feedback, contagions and diffusion cant happen in all examples given above. And thus randomness does not operate in contagion and diffusion since they differ practically from correlation
