I kind of indirectly heard about Complexity Science from Nassim Taleb (he mentioned the Sante Fe Institute in a positive light in Fooled by Randomness which is significant because every other mention of anyone in that book is negative lol) so that's why I ask.

I think Nassim Taleb actually contributed one of the concept in complexity theory, that of a "black swan event" - just a bit of trivia

Correct, I have actually read his book "The Black Swan" 3 times now, its excellent!
