The SAN you talk about is the first time I've heard about it, but it makes sense: instead of having your storage servers hogging the main, user-facing network, you have a network in a cabinet that just manages the servers in that cabinet, only sending out to the main network when a user needs a file fetching.

The way I typically explain a SAN to people is to think of a NAS, but instead of sharing files/folders over SMB, it gives out virtual disks like candy called LUNs that appear in the user's Windows Disk Management as if it's a physical drive, but it's actually thru either fibre channel if your company has money, or iSCSI if they're poor

Since earth's global network is cited as "a good example of a WAN" then I guess that leaves it part of the SSAN (Solar System Area Network) of the GAN (Galactic Area Network) in the UAN (Universe Area Network) part of the MUN (Multi-universe Network). But broadcast OTU (Over The Universe) is more likely for wireless universe transmission.

Hello, is there some way to make the personal virtual server that usually starts with 192 in the router visible to the world without using vpn applications.
@JJFlores197 Жыл бұрын
Not sure if you've figured it out yet, but yes you can do that. You will need to setup port forwarding. On your router, you will need to forward whatever ports your server requires. For instance, if you're hosting a webserver, you would forward port 80 (http) and/or 443 (https). The exact ports depend on whatever server you're hosting. You tell the router to forward those ports to your virtual server's IP address; this is the server's IP address in the network. Once you do this, test it by connecting to your public facing IP address from another device on another internet connection. Do note that this is a security risk as you are allowing connections outside of your network to get through to your server. You should be ready to install any security updates/patches for whatever server you're running.
