I was alive before Atari was invented..all we had was sub-par computer games..not many cool games but still overjoyed to see the start of internet gaming..oh, we didn’t have microwave ovens either..it was cool to see that invention come out..funny story, rumors at the time , one wasn’t supposed to stand near the working microwave based on “possible” cancer causing waves leaking through the door seals. Great memories. 😊

I have a beard and a beer (or 2) here in Elgin, Texas. I have 2 Rpi 4 8G units and a 1B+ in house and am waiting for 6 CM4s (8G ram) with IO boards. I have built a pi DNS and a multiboot system using BerryBoot, with the goal of getting the grub boot loader to work. You are right about the pi 4 not being stout enough to run VMs, but a cluster of 6 multiboot systems where you can control what's running where is cool. Essentially, I am building a home cloud/lab so I can learn the ends and outs of things like K8s, Ansible, Docker, ... . I was a chip designer most of my career, retired now, and want to learn all of this just because. Your channel is one of cool knowledge share tools helping an old soul like me. Love your presentation method.

In addition to what you said the Raspberry Pi also makes a great Pi-hole / VPN machine. PiVPN is one way to go but I only have experience using Wireguard on the Pi which has worked GREAT. The touchscreen that you have for the Pi is awesome I'll definitely be looking into it for my next Pi. My current Pi is headless as a GUI is not needed and it lowers memory usage.

In a 12-minute video? You expected a quick rundown by four minutes?

@@Reseng been a while since I posted this but I am sure I was rightfully immensely annoyed by the lack of information since I comment on it. So yea, I expect some information when watching a video like that. But whatever I don't care, next.

Great beard. I’m way older (maybe not way, but enough to have kids in college) than you and quite envious of your beard. Keep it growing!

I really like the Rasberry Pi. I may get the 3 first and then the 4 in a month or two. I plan to use it to write stories. I am also starting to study linux. I started out with Dos and I loved Dos. I resisted moving towards a GUI for a while.

What's it for? Hacking? What can you tell me about it, what have you learned so far after buying one?? Thanks.
@Hikomaster2000

@@Adrien_broner Im using it for several purposes. 1.- automation. can be used as a microprocessor. to recieve signals from sensors or to send instructions to actuators 2.- learn Linux. is a cheap way to have a light distro. 3.- retro console. by far, one of the best reasons to have one, at least for me (40’ guy) im sure there are other potential uses, but at the moment this is ok for me.
