The Raspberry Pi 4 could be the ultimate learning desktop. In this video, we show you how to setup a Raspberry Pi from the ground up. Starting with BerryBoot, which allows us to boot and use multiple Linux operating systems from one SD card, we move on to optimizing the Raspberry Pi for kids to learn Linux, coding, and Hacking. We setup multi-user login, add user accounts, enable remote access from an ipad, and install Kali Linux hacking tools Yersinia and Ettercap.
3:12 ⏩ What you need.
3:49 ⏩ Format the SD Card with BerryBoot
6:21 ⏩ Assemble the Pi
8:05 ⏩ Plugin and BOOT!
9:05 ⏩ BerryBoot Config (boot multiple Operating Systems)
11:07 ⏩ Coffee Break
12:24 ⏩ Downloading more OS's
14:15 ⏩ Enabling Multi-user access
16:24 ⏩ Add User Accounts
18:49 ⏩ Setup Remote access from iPad
20:41 ⏩ Configure a Static IP
💣💣26:10 ⏩ Install HACKING tools💣💣

Hey Lisa I want to encourage you to reach for the stars, I'm 51 and have no real coding experience. I'm a self taught PC Build Tech but that was hobby level, all my friends and family came to me to upgrade and "fix" what ever they had go wrong. 9th grade "official" education but got my GED twice, California lost the records to the 1st one hence twice. At 50 I found myself suddenly single and no clue about what to do with anything. I decided to go to school. I want my higher Ed education before I die. I'm more towards the end of my working years, but that's OK, my reasons were not for that. Ì enrolled and am half down with my cybersecurity courses with a 4.0! If I can do this, YOU GOT IT! 🎉🎉 DREAM BIG, THEN DREAM BIGGER!

Chuck I stumbled across your videos on KZbin yesterday and saw this one this morning. My son bought me a Raspberry Pi for father's day (Pi 3b+) and has been teaching me to use it. Catch is he is on the west coast and I live in northern Ontario, 3 time zones to the east. We have been spending time once a week doing some small projects. Since he has been learning and working with Linux for over 20 years he is light years past me. Your video is obviously at the right level for your daughters and surprise, I am about where they are on the learning curve. I have ben using Etcher to load things like Raspian onto a micro SD card but am going to use the method you demonstrated and try loading more than 1 version of Linux onto my Pi. All to say thanks for making this video and I will look forward to watching the others now that I have subscribed to your channel. Regards, Pat

The newest Pi's are not a slow Amiga where a ram disk is very much wanted. The latest models of Pi (model 2 and up) are pretty beefy machines seen what is on the board. The speed gained will not be noticeable by the eye. We stopped using ram disk many years ago (around the time the 486 came out) because the speed difference is not noticeable in today's tech and ram disk have the nasty habit too loose all info on power off whether that was intended or not. Also on start the ram disk needs to be created in ram, this means the ram needs to be partitioned and formatted every time you start your computer which takes additional time. Take it that for any computer going faster than 1 Ghz a ramdisk is kinda useless to gain speed. Besides the cheaper models do not have a lot of ram to begin with and any ram taken into the ram disk is not usable for the rest of the system. The only real benefit Puppy gives you or a ram disk for that matter is an extra security layer as the system stands and cannot be permanently changed in its running environment from an outside source. A ram disk is in fact a very crude version of a sandbox nowadays.

I often forget to “sudo” commands. When I press enter, I have the error message that reminds me that I need root powers to execute the command. So, instead of pressing arrow up, ctrl-a, type “sudo” and enter, I go for the bang-bang. Typing “sudo !!” after the message error will sudo the previous command.
