They sounded great! The floor tom was impressive considering the small capsule. Will you be able to do a long term test on them? Curious to know how the durability is if they get hit. Pros usually have a pretty tight hit pattern but I’ve seen drum mic’s take a beating. Seem best suited for studio or pro drummers only.

Cymbal rejection is quite good with these. I’m using a pair of Lewitt Audio LCT040 Matched for overheads

To me I get the best sound from Tuning the drums properly/appropriately, then placing a Shure SM57 on the snare, a Sure Beta on the kick, and a matched pair of overheads like my Rode M5s pointed in the right direction about 2 feet above the cyms, and just EQ, compress/limiter and go.

the earthworks mics never sound right to me on drums. these are legit dream-makers. Sounded exactly like drums. that’s it. like a perfect snare sound especially. Gonna start saving now I reckon!

Too fragile and proprietary for road life. I like things to be universal and interchangeable because you never know when something goes down. Specialty cables and mounts don't sit well with me. To each their own.

These are definitely not fragile! We built them with the abuse of touring in mind. The capsule housing is titanium and can take an absolute beating, also everything is interchangeable and swappable. The capsule head unscrews from the gooseneck, all the cables are detachable and swappable, the cable it ships with is a 3.5mm cable and we also offer Lemo, microdot and TA4F to be used with other systems and wirelessly which helps when using on other instruments.
