Don't let your wife or anyone else keep you away from The Church! Christ was very explicit about forsaking everything else to follow him. Speaking from personal experience, myself and my daughters are baptized Orthodox Christians, and my wife is still outside the Church. Nevertheless, I continue to pray for her and intercede on her behalf. 1st Corinthians 7:14 says that this is effectual and the right thing to do in this situation. Lead, and (God willing) they will follow you to the fullness of the truth.

I'm in this boat as well brother. My wife is very skeptical and on the fence, but thankfully she has been attending liturgy with me for a few months now. It'll take time to undo the years of Protestant thinking. Perhaps you should ask our holy mother to prayer for your wife in a way that understands the heart of a woman (and mother, if you have children).

Pray to St Anne, grandmother of Christ and mother of Mary; and to her husband St Joachim. They understand the importance of family, including your spouse. Also, do not wait for your spouse to become Orthodox! Be an example to her so that she can see what Orthodoxy can do. Lead through example.

This reminds me of one of the Greek myths where a man wished for eternal life but forgot to ask for eternal youth, so he withered away to the undying form of a wraith. This obsession of our elites with defeating Death, that which is inevitable for all humans, seems like the ultimate sin of pride, and could easily turn into a most horrible curse on whoever pursues it.

Thank you father. I agree this is a step into transhumanism. This is the work of the opponent to remove people away from the perfect created beings into a half machine. They then will have total control over all the slaves and they won't even notice or care that they are more steps away from the creator. However evil wants to roll out their (2030) agenda, we also know that there is only one who decides what happens in this world, he even controls the wicked for his purposes, so lets keep on praying.

Hi Father. Any technology can be abused. In this case I see Neuralink the same way we look at artificial limbs. As far as I know the church doesn't prohibit the use of prosthetic legs and arms. If someone's link to an artificial limb is accessible only through a brain link I think this should be permitted as a mercy. It's strange and unusual but so were pacemakers and hip replacements at one time. The church should follow the developments to ensure it follows ethical uses, however I don't see a reason for outright prohibition. As Proverbs warns us we shouldn't make decisions without all the facts. God Bless. ☦

Thank you, Father. One question I have is whether or not "increasing our faith" and "trusting in God" is something we can choose to do. For myself, despite fervent prayer and all manner of "trying," I have always struggled to have faith and to trust in God and so I have come to believe that these are gifts of Grace that we cannot attain for ourselves by simply deciding to increase our faith or deciding to trust in God. If you would disagree with this and say that we do have a choice to do so, how is it done?
@princezzpuffypants6287
@princezzpuffypants6287 9 ай бұрын
I have decided, through my own experience, thar faith is a gift, but belief is a choice. I chose Orthodoxy because I saw how absolutely crazy the world had become, and I was desperate for somewhere sane to take my child - for a community that would teach correct thinking and give support. Once I had decided that the Orthodox community were correct in their thinking and devoted to living their lives in a proper fashion, I chose to believe in the Church and to follow its teaching, even though I still struggle to believe in a God at all. Over time, I have found myself praying without feeling awkward or questioning, "Am I just talking to myself?". I've found myself talking about God, Christ, the Saints, or the Bible and trusting that these things are real/factual. I suppose this is the beginning of faith. But I do believe faith is a blessing. I also believe that faith *should* be hard to earn. People who have faith without first questioning that faith will be easy to shake. I grew up with faith, and the first time it was called into question, I surrendered that faith entirely, becoming an atheistic witch for two decades. I would rather struggle to find my faith than have full faith that is weak. I hope I make sense... I will pray for your faith as well as for my own 🙏

[Father, thank you for this serious reflection..May i add something from my life which was rather funny at the time? YEARS ago when we lived in another state, it seemed that a lot of our ptrnst church members whom we loved were moving away, and a friend said she was tired of having going away parties. That we ought to have a staying forever party. Well, we decided to have just that at my/our home. Friends brought good things to eat and they were to dress (if they wanted to) like they might look if they DID stay 'forever', or a long time. (Rather silly, i know, but it did turn out to be rather fun.) My husband didn't tell me what he was going to do, but he pulled together some miscellaneous electronic equipment, attached some wires to the stuff, taped them to his head somehow and came into the room to say that he had designed a "brain pacemaker". He was ahead of Elon...😏😏 BTW, many of us also moved away!]]

Georgian Chant is a Roman Catholic practice. This channel is dedicated to Orthodox Theology. The form of our worship is different. However, there are some similarities. Byzantine Chant would be more our style. In answer to your question, we believe that God resides in the 8th Day of Creation (the æon). Because He resides outside of time and space, our methods of keeping time are less relevant to Him than they are to us.

The thought of an interface hardwired directly to the brain concerns me. If it can connect to an external source, it's not a question of if malicious actors will exploit it, but when. We already see criminals taking hospitals hostage with malware, imagine the same but instead of medical records it's someone's brain. If something like this becomes normalized and widely adopted, it's very likely that society will be adapted in such a way that life without such an implant becomes very difficult. Much like how in large parts of the US, it is difficult to function day to day without personal transportation, imagine if most businesses adopt implant only payment methods. I've seen a video of an elderly man in the UK expressing his frustration over a store going electronic payment only, and not accepting cash payments. The same could easily happen with this technology.

Martin Luther King lied ever second word, and he barely even understood his own Protestant Christian "ministry." He barely understood his own theology. So I know what you are saying. He was a liar and politician first. Trenham is very intelligent, and I can tell he is a wonderful guy and a wonderful priest by priestly standards from my observation intuition. but here is the thing about Christianity: they are easily manipulated by popular politics. So they, like Fr. Barron and the Catholics and all Christians, basically have to be careful ( Thus MLK will always be a "Saint" no matter what is revealed about him in the FBI docs ) about what they say, and have to essentially echo whatever the politics of the day demand us to believe or pretend to believe. Just one reason, I have trouble believing in anything. But there are limits on what we are even allowed to think. As that might effect how we treat people, and how their "feelings" manifest. That's always been my problem with accepting the universalism of Christianity. Because it always had to BEND to the feelings of lesser minds out of charity. That's a problem. And maybe an insoluble problem. Most Christians have an IQ of 100. They can't understand this. Jews at about 115 can understand this. That's what you need. And we don't have it.
