It’s a fine line. They can’t tell you what you should do with your money, but they are also under a fiduciary duty to prevent scams. There are ways to phrase the question that are acceptable. It’s kind of like when a 90 year old comes in with a 20 year old who keeps telling the 90-year-old what to do and what to say. It is clearly elderly abuse, but they cannot prevent you from taking out your own money so they try to employ delay tactics.
