This is gonna sound weird, but Vedal’s hesitation when answering Neuro’s questions heavily reminds me of how my parents talked to me when I was a child. I was a very physically and mentally ill child, and would talk/ask questions like Neuro (given she is definitely around the mental age of 10, this makes sense). But in a way, Vedal beating around the bush when answering questions from an AI is so similar to how my parents beat around the bush when answering questions from a sickly child. I really do see Neuro in my childhood self. Especially with the “how do you know I can’t feel love?” part… both Vedal and my parents knew their definitive answers to the question, the difference being that Neuro doesn’t really understand what it means to be an AI vs a person, and that I didn’t understand what it meant to be ill vs normal. Even if Vedal won’t be a parent (to a, y’know, Human Child) he is getting some of the mental maturity that a person gets from having a child. That is a genuine accomplishment. Ok rant over TLDR Vedal and Neuro’s relationship is a strangely very realistic parent and sick child relationship.
