Excellent presentation. Everyone in management should be required to see this!

The topic I find interesting is the fact that there are neurodivergent people, neuro different people that are unemployed and suicide rates so high . the pain families endure trying to “manage” the day to days with basics that they’ve accrued. Hardships, burdening, isolation, when we’re just looking for connection and strength identifiers. Communication is different and everybody sometimes verbal spoken words are just not easy to come by. The marginalization’s between communities . I need support as a Neuro divergent Nuro different person in so much pain. Quick add here: I am a person in the Lehigh valley who has been going through neurodivergent burn out for years of being missed diagnosed in later diagnosed in life . Living in the far beyond from the urban area that gets missed and falls through gaps. I am looking for support with Via of Lehigh Valley with special accommodation request.

Now for the next level question. Since I can find no data, how would an Autistic person learn to be a good leader? Better communicator?

Very subjective answer : I'm just thinking about Greta Thunberg right now, but I'm not sure if she's a leader or more an inspirator/a guide. How did she make it? Maybe we could find some clues there. Otherwise, for example an autistic person could be a good leader by pointing precisely the do and don't to that provide efficiency in quite any system, in order to pursue a goal. Communication can be straight to the point with an autistic person so no loss of time, the only thing is to make sure that words and voice carry enough empathy and conviction, so that the form of the speech is well received and not seen as too rude. By the way autistic people are generally very empathetic and sensitive to the well being, which is is so important when you want to lead a team or people. They can take the lead and meanwhile still very attentive to each one's challenges : they don't forget where they come from, they're generally very attached to equality in terms of respecting and valuing everyone.

I'm a bit disappointed that this wasn't a talk on how neurodivergent people could be good leaders, but perhaps my autistic brain misunderstood!

Thank you for the feedback. I have heard this from several people. It is difficult (impossible?) for me to address the development of neurodivergent leaders (since I am neurotypical). However, I have meet a few neurodivergent leaders who responded to this TEDx and introduced them to each other to form a group to address this very question. Stay tuned.

I think we were so waiting for this and the title sounds like "hey here is the answer!". :) Finally we might find some inspiration throughout reknown autistic "leaders"... but they might essentially be inventors and not team leaders as we could figure it out.
