I am wondering what might happen if one of the sensors on the head comes loose during a session. For instance, if one or both sensors on the head either comes loose or even disconnects completely, and the user is completely unaware of it. Is there a way for the system to alert the user that the sensor has been disconnected, and won't the loose or disconnected sensor result in a ruined session?

Thanks for your question. There is no way for the software to alert you if a sensor falls off. The best thing to do is check periodically to make sure they are firmly pressed against the head, especially if training a child who tends to move around more.

If this is the case when the sensors are connected to our head and the music pauses how can we be sure that's due to electrical activity in the brain and not the environment?

Hi, thanks for the great question. The brain's electrical activity is varied and non-linear, you can think of that as like a mountain range. And environmental noise, here in the US is 60 Hz, is constant, like a highway. So the NeurOptimal software is able to tell the difference between the two and ignore the environmental noise.

@@peekirbyevox5223 Yes good follow up question. The sensors are picking up on EMF which could include microwaves current, wall current, cell phone, blue tooth, just dirty information but not all consistently the same, so the NeurOptimal system is still trying to make sense of the chaotic electrical activity when the sensors are dangling and will create the interrupts they're just not meaningful. When the sensors are connected the software can find some differences even within the noise. The conductive paste makes the cortical data ‘brighter’ which helps when looking past the 60hz info and allows for a focus on the very minute cortical activity and use that electrical data for the source of when to give feedback.
