Not permanent, but they last longer than any other type of cell.

doctors seem malinformed. nowhere in the hippocampus has memory been found. this is because it only facilitates memory. continuing to learn things and engage your imagination is proven to have an even bigger impact on neurogenesis, also. thanks

Thanks for your input. There is great consensus that the Hippocampus is heavily involved in memory. It's not the only part and it's definitely more nuanced/dynamic than memory = Hippocampus. If you can share research showing that learning things and engaging imagination elicits more neurogenesis than exercise please do share 🙂
