U can combine Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive into one novel, but Neuromancer is truly unique.

I've tried to read Neuromancer twice and gave up due to confusion. I think this video and others out there will help on my next attempt, thanks! The ChatGPT passage is amazing.

Heck yeah man! I hope you give Neuromancer another try. I really do think it's worth it.

I work as an electronics technician in fracking, I watched this video while at work. So I tried the ChatGPT thing with fracking and oh boy… love it…. Just love it hahahaha In the neon-drenched alleys of tomorrow's cities, where shadows dance with the flickering glow of holographic billboards, a clandestine dance unfolds beneath the Earth's skin. Fracking, a digital-age alchemy, transforms the once-solid ground into a volatile canvas of greed and desperation. Deep beneath the surface, corporations wield drills like dark wands, extracting the lifeblood of the planet with a cold, calculating precision. The hum of machinery reverberates through the concrete canyons, echoing the pulse of a world intoxicated by the promise of boundless energy. Yet, amidst the fractured layers of reality, echoes of environmental catastrophe and ethical compromise linger, painting a dystopian portrait of humanity's insatiable thirst for power and progress.

I'm convinced they've made AI worse in the past few months... also, that's got no right to be as good as it is. "The hum of machinery reverberates through the concrete canyons, echoing the pulse of a world intoxicated by the promise of boundless energy." bro that's crazy.

Lovely review. I really enjoy your deliberate speech and taking time to pick out the next right word. This gives your reviews and thoughts a lot of clarity, which is ironic given the subject of the review haha. I'll read these books one day. Also, that GPT excerpt is crazy and really not far off from the current grocery-store-going experience. Kinda scary.

This is not typically the content I go to youtube for, but your channel popped up on my recommended page and I have been looking for something new to read. Appreciate the review and how authentic it felt - many content creators rely on cuts and editing to keep viewers engaged (not discounting them!), but the way you spoke about your experience and the lack of editing felt very real and raw - I loved it! Keep up the good work.

I am so happy I found this channel. I can't wait to dig through your other videos! I don't usually comment, but I had to after you talked about narrative styles. YOU made that clearer than any of my teachers ever did. Thank you.

I’m surprised by how rarely reviewers mention what a brilliant prose stylist Gibson is.
@3choblast3r4Ай бұрын
because 95% of them can't follow his prose.. they don't take the time to understand it instead they just keep reading, which is why it never fully clicks and they never truly get it

I must have read at least four of Gibson's works but honestly, I don't remember any of it. IIRC, I liked Count Zero more than the others, but none of them made any lasting impression on me at all. My conclusion was that I read him too late. If I had read Neuromancer when it came out, perhaps it would have been more impactful. But I read them after works like Snow Crash, Dimond Age, and maybe some of Rudy Rucker's Ware tetralogy and I found Stephenson more entertaining and Rucker way more imaginative. Be that as it may, his writing style and plots just never really hooked me.

Bro are you sure you had your thoughts together when you started filming? ☺️

LOLOLOL No Never. Lots of times it's like "Gotta film fast while the wife and kids are out of the house." so it's usually always on the fly. LOL
