ഈ വീഡിയോയുടെ തുടക്കത്തിൽ scientific temper നെപ്പറ്റി പരാമർശിച്ചിരുന്നല്ലോ. What is scientific temper? Scientific temper describes an attitude which involves the application of logic. അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ ആയുർവ്വേദത്തിൽ ഈ ശാസ്ത്രമനോഭാവം ഉണ്ട്. കാരണം, തർക്കശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ സഹായമില്ലാതെ ആയുർവേദപഠനം സാധ്യമല്ല. കൂടാതെ, തന്ത്രയുക്തി എന്നൊരു വിഷയം കൂടി പഠിച്ചിരിക്കണം. ഇതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് ആയുർവേദ തത്വങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നത്. ദ്രവ്യഗുണങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റി പഠിക്കുന്നതുകൂടാതെ pharmacokinetics, parmacodynamics എന്നിവ ആയുർവേദത്തിന്റെ രീതിശാസ്ത്രമനുസരിച്ചു മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ രസവൈശേഷികം എന്നൊരു വിഷയം കൂടി പഠിച്ചിരിക്കണം. Steps of scientific temper: 1.Questioning 2.observing 3.testing 4.hypothesizing5.analysing 6.communicating ആയുർവേദ സിദ്ധാന്തങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഈ ഘട്ടങ്ങളിലൂടെ രൂപീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ളതാണെന്ന് ആയുർവേദത്തിലെ സംഹിതാ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങൾ വായിച്ചാൽ ബോധ്യപ്പെടും. ഉദാ :ചരകസംഹിത, സുശ്രു ത സംഹിത. സുശ്രുത സംഹിതയിൽ പറയുന്നു "ഏകം ശാസ്ത്രമധീയാനോ ന വിദ്യാൽ ശാസ്ത്രനിശ്ചയം ". അതായത്, ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രം മാത്രം പഠിച്ചാൽ ശാസ്ത്ര നിശ്ചയം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നില്ല, അതിനാൽ മറ്റുശാസ്ത്രങ്ങളും പഠിച്ചിരിക്കണം എന്നാണ് സുശ്രുതാചാര്യൻ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത്. അതായത്, multidisciplinary approach. പല ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ പഠിക്കുകയും എന്നാൽ അതിന്റെ അർത്ഥം ശരിയായി മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ലായെങ്കിൽ, അയാളുടെ അവസ്ഥ ചന്ദനം ചുമക്കുന്ന കഴുതക്കു തുല്യമായിരിക്കുമെന്നും ആചാര്യൻ പറയുന്നു. കഴുത അതിന്റെ പുറത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ചന്ദനത്തിന്റെ ഭാരമല്ലാതെ അതിന്റെ ഗുണം അറിയാത്തതുപോലെയെന്നും പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. ഏതെങ്കിലും മരുന്ന് ഉപയോഗിച്ചാൽ, അതിന്റെ action രോഗിയിൽ കാണുകയല്ലാതെ reaction കാണുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അതിനർത്ഥം പ്രസ്തുത രോഗിക്ക് ആ മരുന്ന് അനുയോജ്യമല്ല എന്നാണ്. ഏത് ഔഷധമായാലും അതിൽ ദോഷകരമായ ചില ഘടകങ്ങളും കാണും. ആ ദോഷങ്ങൾ പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിനാണ് ആയുർവേദമരുന്നുകൾ ഔഷധ യോഗങ്ങൾ (compounds)ആയി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. നമ്മുടെ നിത്യ ജീവിതത്തിലും ഇത്തരം ചില കാര്യങ്ങൾ നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ആഹാരം പാകം ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ മുളക്, മല്ലി, മഞ്ഞൾ എല്ലാം ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതിൽ ഒരു logic ഉണ്ടെന്നു പലരും അറിയുന്നില്ല. മുളകിന്റെ ഉഷ്ണവീര്യം മല്ലി സമീകരിക്കുന്നു. വിഷാംശങ്ങളും മറ്റ് അലർജിയുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന ഘടകങ്ങളും നിർവീര്യമാക്കു൬ സ്വഭാവം മഞ്ഞളിനുണ്ട്. ആയുർവേദ മരുന്നുകൾ ഒറ്റമൂലികയായി ഉപയോഗിക്കാൻ ശാസ്ത്രീയ ചികിത്സയിൽ അധികം പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കാറില്ല.കാരണം, എത്ര നല്ല ഔഷധമായാലും അതിൽ കുറെ ദോഷകരമായ ഘടകങ്ങളും കണ്ടെന്നിരിക്കും. ഇതു് പരിഹരിക്കുന്നത് ഔഷധ മൂലികകളുടെ സംയോഗം കൊണ്ടാണ്. അതുപോലെ കഷായം, അരിഷ്ടം, നെയ്യ്, തൈലം ഇങ്ങനെയെല്ലാം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത് യുക്തിപൂർവം തന്നെയാണ്. Water Soluble ഘടകങ്ങളുള്ളവ കഷായമാക്കും. Alchohol Soluble അരിഷ്ടമാക്കി ferment ചെയ്തെടുക്കും. Fat Soluble നെയ്യ്, തൈലം എന്നിങ്ങനെയുണ്ടാക്കും. പൂർണ്ണമായി ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടവ ഗുളികയായി അരച്ചെടുക്കും. ഇതിനൊക്കെ യുക്തിയും തത്വവും ശാസ്ത്രവുമുണ്ട്. ഇതൊന്നുമറിയാതെ, ഇതരവൈദ്യങ്ങളുടെ രീതിശാസ്ത്രമറിയാതെ അന്ധമായി വിമർശിക്കുന്നത്, അന്ധൻ ആനയെ മനസ്സിലാക്കിയതു പോലെയാണെന്ന് പറയാതെ വയ്യ. വില്വാദി ഗുളികയെപ്പറ്റി ഈ ബഹുമാന്യ Hepatologist എന്തു മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിട്ടാ മോ വിമർശിക്കുകയും പുച്ഛിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത്. സ്വന്തം വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രത്തിലുള്ള ആത്മവിശ്വാസക്കുറവായിരിക്കാം കാരണം. ഒരു മരുന്നു രോഗിക്കു കൊടുത്ത് അതിന്റെ Side effect ഇല്ലാതാക്കാൻ മറ്റൊരു മരുന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്ന modern medicineന്റെ രീതിയല്ല ആയൂർവേദത്തിന്റേത്. പല രോഗങ്ങളും ചികിത്സിക്കാൻ ഔഷധം തന്നെ ആവശ്യമില്ല. "Each patient carries his own Doctor inside him. They come to us not knowing this truth. We are at our best when we give the Doctor resides within each patient a chance to go to work". എന്ന ഡോ. ആൽബർട്ട് ഷ്വൈറ്റ് സറിന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ പഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് നല്ലതാണ്.
