From this lecture I learned that when iron 56 is first formed it creates an iron white dwarf at the center of the massive star. Which then collapses when it reaches Chandrasekhar's limit. Wow.

I could be wrong but my understanding is that non metals resist compression because the electron clouds repel each other. Metals are degenerate just like a white dwarf and resist compression because of electron degeneracy pressure.

Why doesn't pressure make 2 neutrons when a proton (2 up + 1 down ) + an electron ( 3 down ) come together ? Neutron ( 1 up + 2 down ) or even a neutron-meson ( 1 up + 1 anti-up ) .

Would the interior of the crust be an analog to a metal? If it is ions in a neutron gas it should be similar. Metals are ions in an electron gas.

Actually, it is too different. The conductivity is not comparable to metal. Since in a metal electrons comprise a vast majority of the total volume. While in a neutron Star the conductive properties derive from neutron decay and reverse decay. The total volume in this form of matter is comprised of nuclei, with only a fraction of its volume establishing conductivity.

Your conclusions are completely wrong, the outer crust and all the way to the core of aneutron star is pure plasma at absolute 0 temperature and no mass at all, the inner core is way much denser than what you think.... an dteh most important thing is that neutron stars do have a atmospher elike layers abopve the crust in a number of rings overlapped one on top of tehothers with the outer one with an equivalent temperature of the neutron star mass if it was a star at the precise moment it would go supernova. This amount of energy isnecessary so for the light emitted by tehsupernova to have that tiny amount of mass to be capable connectrl to an electromagenti wave forit to make it visible to us.... if it didnt have that, then the neutron star would be lieka blakc hole but with mass... Blakc holes have no mass at al and are th eoppisite of neutron starts,,,, the crust is high density space time fabric, and the inside is absolute nothing, no space no time, a rip in the fabric of existance...... the heat in the outer ''atmoshere''shells of a neutron start beocme hot becuase of the friction of particles, getting their attibutes as they are being transfomred into particles of light. I really do not understand hwo is it possible that such brilliant minds with so much luck to have been able to have suchhigh education are stil coming to colclusions, that make you seem as if you are stil in teh Glilean era only just using fancier words, in your theories. This whole lecture is basicaly no different than a lecture abotu ether given 150 years ago....all looks genius, and all is like a teenager fantasy watching star wars. In controlled extreme echosystems like in teh cas eof neutron stars mathematics as we kno wit doesnt apply, in that kind of space time, 2+2 doesnt equal 4, you need to recaliber in relation to its space time attributes. The mass of a neutron star is so high that its life span is not even a millisencond while to us it might seem as if billion of years
