Amazing message in this one.. a lot of jewels dropped! “Who are you justifying your passion of sneakers too?” Is a question all collectors/sneaker enthusiasts should ask themselves.

Preach! Unless someone plans on chipping in on weekly “must have, can’t sleeps”, and by chipping in I mean paying 100%, then no justification is needed. It really isn’t even that serious.

Nope and I want people to stop feeling the need to explain themselves. Especially to people not funding a single thing.

That’s so crazy how I was hearing that same conversation about the AMM 3’s and the BC3’s. That just shows you too many of these people think the same. Like I grabbed the White Thunders and passed on the AMM3’s and it had absolutely nothing to do with resale value. I just didn’t want them tbh. But I also come from the time where we were happy to see a Jordan that we wanted still on the shelf. People just bought what they liked back then. The concept of not buying a shoe because what someone else thinks is pretty tragic.
@TalksWithTJ2 ай бұрын
It's so tragic because you know people are making purchases based on what a stranger things who will never see them in person!
@Its_Sheroy3 ай бұрын
Well said! You’re absolutely right that no one needs to explain themselves for their lack of purchases. People’s priorities are constantly changing and being realigned and skipping releases doesn’t translate to a lack of appreciation or “disinterested in sneakers”. Also I’m genuinely surprised Nike didn’t capitalize on the rise of run clubs and expand their current programs like On Cloud and other brands did.
@TalksWithTJ2 ай бұрын
It's shocking! Running is bigger than ever, especially for the few who have disposable income and yet nothing by them to the degree or On or even like Saysh.

@talkswithTJ pay no attention to negative people posting on your videos. We all choose what content we want to press play on. I wish more people had the guts to say on this platform what they really feel about the state of the sneaker industry. I bet my money that most people that hate on your content are bitter they lost tons of money thinking sneakers would make them rich. If you’re passionate about sneakers, this is the best time to be a sneakerhead. You can buy what you like and, in many cases, pay for them what you’re comfortable paying. Lastly, I want to commend you, once more, for inspiring me to take a hard look at my collection and my buying tendencies. Post more videos!!! 🙏🏽

Thank you for the kind words! Happy to hear the content is helpful as well when taking a look at your own buying behavior for sneakers. And I have intentionally pulled back on uploads. For close to 6 years I pushed out over 20 videos a month (this isn't my full time job), it was long overdue for a reset. I'm able but also choosing to slow down a lot of things to accommodate where I am in life. Videos are still being uploaded, just not at the cadence they were before.

Honestly I love this downtime of sneakers. I have been getting so many sneakers for cheap. Then nike retro so many classic sneakers that I love and it’s making the prices of previous release sneakers go down in price. Like I recently grabbed a pair of Nike air fear of god 1s for like 180 bucks in total. The shoes look damn near brand new. Back in 2020 those things would’ve been 450. I encourage anyone to enjoy this wonderful time while it last.
@TalksWithTJ2 ай бұрын
Oh yeah, they retailed for $350 but now you can find them for way cheaper. Great time for people who want to buy shoes to enjoy and if people are looking to move pairs for the low to clear out space, pretty easy to do.

Man I love the content, I feel exactly the same way , I’m being super picky and limiting myself to a few sneakers a year , I don’t even get to wear what I have but maybe once twice a year , maybe it’s just getting older but I’m focusing more on saving and what is going to make me money down the road , I’m just waiting on the bc 3’s too like your homie ,and my I’m good for the year, congrats on paying of your student loans too
@TalksWithTJ2 ай бұрын
I think it's a mix of things, I think the allure of buying every pair you can bc you can wears off after some time. As you age, other things do become a priority and with a focus on less stuff that we already own a lot of now. And thank you!!
@playingindies67303 ай бұрын
I recently calculated with the average amount of time and walks the average shoe can do in its lifetime, and with the amount of walks and all I take in a week, many pairs would last me 50 days if I only have 1 pair. This is based on daily wear with normal movement and a total of anout 10km in steps. And on what runners and hikers recomnend in "time for new shoes" So if I buy 7 pairs per year, I should probably end up keeping the same amount.
@TalksWithTJ2 ай бұрын
That's really good to know the shelf life of pairs based on your daily use so you know how many will need to move in and out of rotation.

Thats cool I definitely feel you on high retail. Hopefully I am done with resell spending myself but 2025 I do want some things but definitely not a need so we'll see how my budget goes and if I truly "want" them enough to continue to support resell 😅😅 🤦🏿♂️💯
@TalksWithTJ3 ай бұрын
Retail being higher and higher will deter some people, but hoping resale keeps going higher for the common consumer? Nope, I'm good on that. 2025 will be a year of choices of people. I am wishing everyone the best on what they want and can sensibly afford.

You are a reseller ! You made fun off the guy who lost 10k in the jordan 1 low investment yet failed to get had you invested 10k in Nike stock you’d be just as worse ! Buying a sneaker and hoping it appreciates in value is the same concept as the stock market ! Most stocks like shoes FAIL TO YIELD A RETURN .
@TalksWithTJ3 ай бұрын
This is by far the funniest comment I will read all year. Thank you! And never did I say someone should invest $10K into Nike so if you want to make that comparison out of thin air then that's on you. Had someone invested in the S&P 500 they would see amazing highs right now because that's what smart investing is, not in singular stocks. People barely beat the market doing that, which intelligent individuals already know. The stock market and index funds don't fail to make a return LOL they return on average 8-10%. You have lurked this long on my page and didn't even know that when I've said it often. Again, thanks for the laugh.
@truBoxingfan3 ай бұрын
@@TalksWithTJ here you go as usual on a tangent to try and prove a point Dunning Kruger effect at its best . Realistically , had you invested in the s&p 500 which is just a spread 10k at that time you’d be down right now like I stated ! You’re just rambling by off google terms to support your essay you wrote . Ignoring capital gains tax you’d have to declare once you sell stock . That’s why the wealthy don’t sell stock they leverage unrealized gains to debt. but that’s another topic
@TalksWithTJ3 ай бұрын
If I am on a tangent per usual, then why are you here if you know you don't like what I have to say? Who made you watch me? Absolutely no one! Also, if you're investing in a retirement account, especially, if it's a Roth IRA, you don't pay taxes when you withdraw it because it's what....AFTER TAX CONTRIBUTIONS! Go Google that! So people investing in their retirement accounts are not selling stocks like they're selling sneakers. Maybe that part went over your head too as you were trying to grandstand. Also my account is up while investing in the s&p 500 this year, as are a lot of people. But again why are you over here? I don't know, please have a blessed day and find something better to do.
